I believe aliens want other aliens to think this so they receive worship from other civilizations, kind of like a joke. Also most false faiths claim you can't go to a good afterlife unless you believe said false faith, there are aliens that don't want us poor humans not making it into Alien Heaven.

Fear not though, for I am God Almighty, and we walk on and in the spiritual materials we use to make The Heavens. The road to great spiritual powers is through the destruction and creation of thinking material. We war with what our enemies are made out of, when we decide what they are made out of they cease to be our enemies.
