These cultured paths spoke of the imagination, the minds eye, as being the cradle of perception in those less elevated regions since the residents are not yet purified so much as to have complete incoporeality in the empyrean. They inhabit luminous astral bodies projected by their own minds, the exact same which we have of ourselves in dreams, and lead more or less blissful afterlives much like what you describe.
