Judging by hints in the story Isaac's dad is a gambling addict, who drinks a lot and really is into some esoteric things, but he's not that spiritual as his mom is. Isaac views his dad as an anchor that keeps him sane and stable somehow because they both spent a lot of time playing together. Now whether Isaac suffocated in the chest while hiding from his mom, as it is hinted in the endings, or left to be with his dad is up for debate.It's a good theory though, because Edmund mentioned the time when there was still "satanic panic" while he was growing up, which was just typical artificial CIA nigger bullshit indeed tied to MKUltra and mind control experiments, it also influenced the game. So, yeah, it's a pretty interesting theory. Isaac's dad could be part of a masonic lodge maybe.
