Growing up as a Christian I always considered the ideal of Theistic Evolution retarded. Why would the all powerful God line up dominos to create something he could make in an instant? At the same time, I saw the evidences for evolution, but also the inconsistencies, like the "jumps" that seem to occur. I was conflicted for years, but encountering the Gnostic worldview made it all make sense. God created a simple life that evolved due to inability to make it in its final form. The rapid acceleration that led to humans was caused by divine spark activation. The Gnostics really knew everything.

But I think God is like Azathoth, and just does not give a cluck and/or is dreaming. Now, my the demiurge might have this limitation. Also, I have heard arguments for the reverse where life has devolved. Like gigamen to modern humans to monkeys to rats to mice and possibly eventually to germs or living sludge. IDK how true either of these takes are, but will say this realm tends towards degradation....make of that what you will.
>imagine reducing Gods perception of time to ours >imagine believing God doesnt implement safety nets to prevent life from dying out by random or manmade changes to the environment
