Weighing is to help mitigate potentially over doing it but there have been several occasions I got my nuts blasted off by a rogue shroom packing way more heat than it should. Same reason why people exercise caution when doing Salvia and especially Datura. Sure Datura isn't deadly in the doses used for tripping but the seeds vary so wildly in potency that it's a coin flip chance you kill yourself. Extracted DMT, LSD, 2CB, MDMA, extracted psilocybin, and other lab controlled psychs are much safer for this reason, but personally I feel like you miss out doing extracts vs the full package
