The Pentateuch, which is also known as the Torah, is the first five books of the Hebrew Bible. The first of these books is Genesis. Now there are four suspected sources, among them are two, known as the Yahwist (J) and Elohist (E), that are distinct from one another and can be recognized.What if I told you that Genesis 22 reveals that Abraham killed Isaac? What if I told you that Abraham was blessed because he sacrificed his firstborn son? Would you believe me? Abraham and Isaac go up together, the story is interrupted by the J source, and then Abraham goes down the mountain alone. Isaac is surprisingly silent throughout the rest of the book and serves very little purpose throughout the story unlike Jacob, who is far more prominent. And there is a reason for that.

Your descendants will take possession of the cities of their enemies, and through your offspring all nations on earth will be blessed, because you have obeyed me.”>Then Abraham returned to his servants, and they set off together for Beersheba. And Abraham stayed in Beersheba.
