After dealing with severe depression for the majority of my life, a few months ago I finally made the decision to end my own life. I don't have a specific date in mind yet, I just know it'll be Soon™. Shortly after making my decision, I started noticing small inconsistencies in my life. The lock on my bedroom door turns a different direction, the grommets on my living room curtains are now gold instead of silver, a pair of busted headphones I had thrown out months ago now sit in my desk drawer and work perfectly fine. These changes are small and only I would notice them, however the longer I feel I'm stalling my suicide, the larger and more noticeable these inconsistencies are starting to become. So far there are three major changes I've noticed that differ greatly from my base reality. In my base reality cannabis had far stronger effects than here and use was more widespread, lightning (as in during a storm) was an exceptionally rare occurrence and the global age of consent was 14 everywhere except Japan. Is there anyone else out there currently having a similar experience? I feel like I lose a piece of my sanity every time I see something new or different, like other versions of myself keep killing themselves and I just keep ending up in worse and worse timelines.

This would be a badass short story. But quantum immortality is probably nonsense. QM says either probability is real or the universe is non-local. One or the other must be true to satisfy the findings. But we already know the universe is non local thanks to things like quantum entanglement and bell inequality experiments.
So there’s no need for probabilities to be real, which means there’s no need for many worlds or other crap like that to explain how the world works. There might be other universes but they’re probably not nearly identical branching timelines. So rest easy anon your decision is in your own hands.
