Knowledge and expertise in a domain causes centralization. When that centralization of domain knowledge does not transfer to people you get a technocratic bubble. Do you understand that in this case, the effect you observe is caused naturally without some conspiracy? The same thing you notice when people work with ai. If you hide the true cost of something, people wont mind it. In the past we had resources from abroad, seeing not the evil done far away. Then we had various industrial processes, knowing not that uncontrolled it rampages the land. Now we have super ai (for FREE), knowing full well that someone has to pay for the gpus and power. So your personal data and privacy are mined instead and put in a sharded file across 7 datacentres globally. People also get apathetic from distance from a problem. If a problem feels out of hand or not someone's domain of knowledge and responsibility, they'll just sit there (oft complaining) doing nothing.People as a group? If 10mil go on strike you'll have your societal change in a month. If there are some many "high level spirits" put on earth then you would expect some level of organization. Meditating on where you can make the right difference for yourself and others is hard. If you find the smallest bit of action you can take to set a good example that people follow and leads to an improved mindset against the problems of our time then you did a very good thing.
