When I was little there was something called the "Santa Hotline", it was one of those phone numbers you have to pay money to call. Every day in December it would be active and a message would be played through it.As a kid, I really enjoyed hearing these messages from Santa Claus, and once (and only once) I decided to stay on the phone after the message finished. It was silence for a bit, but that was replaced by loud beeping and a voice repeating "Hang up the phone!". Of course, I was frightened by this and hung up immediately.Now, I understand that this was intentional to free up the phone lines, but what were they thinking? How many of us had this same experience?
