What's going on this Yule? Anyone else staying clear of the Wild Hunt? How are you celebrating the season?
I start the morning with my traditional christmas breakfast, the same as it's been done for +30 years. Rice porridge with cinnamon, sugar and milk. A cheese (gräddost) sandwich and Christmas ham sandwich with Södergårdens (sweet and a bit spicy) mustard (the bread has to be vörtlimpa/Swedish wort bread. And julmust, in the same Christmas glass always used.

Had an experience years back I'd like to unpack:Was a dark and cold winter night, was in the field with my hunting kit, chasing yotes at night. Setup in a treeline, wind in my face, and waited. I'd do this for hours every night. Alone of course. Then I felt a presence that seemed to command nature herself, immediate quiet and I mean dead quiet. Something chilled the area more. My hairs raised and root activated. Forget intense fear, this was pure dread that slammed your asshole closed.The still quiet gave way to the sound of an incoming wind change, heard first atmospherically, like and oncoming storm. Then I heard the red oak leaves start to shake in a new way. My ears perked and nose began going, eyes staring out expecting horrible presence.Then the yotes began to react to this dramatic change, one by one different packs started going nuts, crying out after hours of silence. Sound carries in that kinda cold, I was hearing dozens of dogs, begging and wailing and yipping. I stayed in my nest and stared out, wondering wtf. I'd never heard of the wild hunt. But I was scanning for action like never before. Found it when I wasn't expecting it.I pack up and begin walking out when it happens: a loud crack and zip from out of nowhere. I drop to the snow and present arms back. The shot was close to me and SUV, no impact sound heard, but heard the rifle report after the round flew by. The shooter was far away, and across roads and houses. Later read that a woman was being kept as a sex slave in that area.Proceeded to exfil without further incident, but noticed local horses had been acting irregular too.Never have I experienced anything like it before or after. The wind at night was typically subtle and consistent until thermals changed with the sunrise.Years later heard about the wild hunt, and it hit visceral, body and mind both agreed.
What is the wild hunt? I only saw it in the witcher games.

Only thing I'd change in what I said is that I called it opaque and I'm an idiot that meant translucent, because there was a small amount of transparency through them. Could see them in the light of the moon, and they disappeared in the dark sky. I'll never forget the way they were rushing past, manes and hair flying. Breathtaking.

Myths exist and great people have covered it, find that doctor chick her vids are good.Smart folks stay in doors out of fearful respect. Myth says people can be outright annihilated for dating to get near. One story told of a young man who stood unafraid of their approach. He was challenged by a hunter and overcame the challenge by being clever. The hunter commanded the man to hand over his boot, and the boot was then filled with meat. Upon taking the boot of meat home it turned into hold. Like a reward.Surely others know more, hope to learn more rn.I gotta know what natural or earthly phenomena signal the hunts presence?

Recently seen the northern lights, green waves with bold red. The red waves moved above the green waves, forming an eye shape, with red sunburst appearance. Some pics turned out. The hunt may be associated with these lights.
