I've seen people saying that shock/gore sites consumption has begun with curiosity and turn to obsession. Why do some poeple actually enjoy this content? Constant exposure to this can mess someone up psychologically o im just trippin?

I was in high school when Rotten.com came out. Gore was never my thing. I can watch torture stuff in movies with no issue but real people? Nah.

We are all going to die. On some level seeing it is a way of facing that fact. It can also break any illusions one has that humans/ourselves are special and not just another animal running around trying to get by in a very cruel environment that only has one outcome. It can break people, it can become something of an obsession to some while they work through the implications, it can make some feel like they understand something others don't, and they start feeling special again because of that knowledge. It can change someone or it can settle them in knowing the finality of what is coming. If you have the seeds of mental illness already within you, it can certainly cause that to grow as well.
