Because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be savedHow much of this is true? Does this means that doesnt matter how low I am, how much of a despicable sinner and degenerate I am, if I do this I will be saved? Not only that if I repent I will enjoy life withe Jesus and I will receive the Holy Spirit, is this real? Dont come at me with bible verses, have you first hand experienced it?
>>41722108if you believe in Christ with all your heart, the good works will follow. long story short, believe in Christ and at the least get baptized.
>>41722187>if you believe in Christ with all your heart, the good works will follow. long story short, believe in Christ and at the least get baptized.Unless you're a youth pastor. In that case hot, hot nookie will follow.
>>41722191>protestants
>>41722196>Unless you're a priest, then it's hot hot nookie I can't post about on /x/.
>>41722213>spiritual leaders sin duuuuuuuuh that's why it's fake don't quit your day job
>>41722219Since you can get saved without spiritual leaders and spiritual leaders diddle kids I'm going to just not interact with them.
>>41722228self baptism doesn't count
>>41722238So get baptized and never go to church again. Boom, no chance for the Orthodox Priest to have special prayer sessions with my daughter.
I have first hand experienced a ton of grace being poured over me during my first visit to an Orthodox Christian Divine Liturgy. I've heard in the past that Heaven or at least the throne room of Heaven is engaged in constant worship/praise/glorification of Christ and I always thought "man, who would want that?" and my experience made me understand 100%. it is such an indescribably amazing feeling, I was staring at my feet for 5 minutes once I got back to my car right afterwards and even though it was a beautiful bright summer day the whole world felt dull and grey in comparison to what I had just experienced."It would be worth it to struggle for a thousand years just to gaze upon such beauty for only a moment. What great and indescribable things that can be granted to people, and with what insignificant things do we occupy ourselves”From the book “The Life of St. Paisios the Hagiorite”By Hieromonk Isaac (+1998)"
>>41722243not familiar with orthodoxy, but I doubt you can't just satisfy a sunday obligation and refuse to partake in community events if you distrust them that much.
>>41722253>Make your daughters vulnerable to diddling or I will send them to Hell-t. God
>>41722260>didn't read the postrude dumb guy
>>41722261You're right, but even going to church on Sunday leaves my girls in a vulnerable position. I'd rather spend the day catfishing pedos with them instead.
>>41722108If you believe, get baptized, and avoid dying in a state of mortal sin (i.e. go to confession and sincerely repent of your misdeeds) I feel like you can be fairly certain of your salvation. The danger is that being a despicable sinner and not repenting for so long might eventually turn you away from God completely, and you'll be damned.
>>41722108A tree falls the way it leans. Lean toward God. Have hope that the Most High is with Jesus. Have faith that his is the true way to eternal life. Love through forgiveness of others when they harm you. If you do this you will be forgiven by our holy Father. This will empty your cup of the world and allow you to be filled with Spirit.
The difference people have when accepting Jesus into their heart versus simply believing means that your heart will long to change in ways that you didn't do before. Such as wanting to stop living in sin, empathy for your fellow man, forgiveness not just for others, but also yourself, and giving grace and mercy to yourself in others. We all fall short of the glory of God, but Jesus took the burden of our sins and sanctified us with the blood of the lamb. When God forgives our sin, He fully forgets it, as Jesus took that sin for us. We inevitably sin, and if we ask for forgiveness, they will be wiped away. When your heart hardens and you no longer feel regret over your sin, is when you shut Jesus' love out of your heart and instead fill it with the world.Do not be harsh with yourself, listen to Jesus' teachings more than anything else. Pray, discerne scripture, bless your food a water, look for the goodness in others instead of judging. Good works alone will not give you the key to heaven, but having a heart for Jesus will give you a desire to do good works for others. There are Christians out there that believe in works only as they key, imagine it like a job, they "work" for their redemption like money, instead of doing out of the pure goodness of their heart. The bible explicitly states that you cannot enter the kingdom on works alone.

>>41722269I live in a picturesque small village in southern France. One day a new neighbour moves in to the house next to mine. He's a small weird dude with a mysterious skin colour. He wears a massive diaper, no pants, when he goes out to empty his mail box. Halfway back to his house he stops, makes a moaning sound and starts slowly trying to walk. He just shat himself in his diaper.'Hey' I shout 'You're American aren't ya?'He slowly and groggily looks back at me and responds'Hell yeah. You bet I'm American'
