When did the manlet hate start? Seems to be around when Shrek came out and stigmatized being short. Not only in one movie, but two.
Shrek released May, 2001.
Prior to that, you had JOCKS represented by Emilio Estevez, who is 5'7"
that's SHORT for a jock. D9d he au basketball? Football? Run? Swim? Where would he be competitive at 5'7"? Yet Hollywood represented him as the "jock" stereotype in The Breakfast Club.
Tom Cruise, also 5' 7".
Good God, Michael J Fox is 5' 4"
And he always had a girlfriend in the movies - it was socially acceptable for short men to have a girlfriend.
But then Shrek came out 2001
with the antagonist Farquaad
and it has been over for manlets ever since.
I feel like manlet stigmatization in popular media all points to Shrek.
What example do y'all have to prove or disprove?
>t. seething 6'1" manlet
>>
>>41724393 Do you really want to be a victim?
>>
>>41724393
It's just a visual device for showing they are materialistic and petty, Farquaad wants a princess not out of love or to complete his inner alchemy but to legitimize his kingdom his castle is also just a modern monolith type thing devoid of classic tropes or geometry. Rumpelstilstkin is an angry dude that feels he got fucked over bc of Shrek and once he sacrifices Shrek's life he gets all he could ever want but still his most prized possession is not his kingdom, not his goose pet, not even his quasi harem of witches, his most prized possession is a shiny ball, that's it.

There might be something to what you said, but idk about Shrek
>>
>>41724393
How the fuck is 6' 1" a manlet? Lmao bro, get a grip.
>>
>>41724393
Nobody likes short men, it's how things are.
Shrek didn't create this sentiment, it only mirrored it.

6 figures,
6' 1",
7" eggplant
still
not rich enough
not tall enough
not fit enough
dick size doesn't matter because it's not used

I'm just some fugly chud I suppose
I have a grip, Chad-lite is not enough these days

Really? I missed he only liked his disco ball. He seemed pretty happy living it up. Seemed like he liked his mean pet goose too.
Angry little manlet manchild might be an apt description though.
Farquaad being selfish and a narcissist, it's easy to make poke fun at the short manchild as the villain.
Let's take a look at Gaston, picrel.
He was a "villain", but only in Belle's story.
Everyone else seemed to adore him.
Belle is the equivalent of a female shut-in who has spent tok.much time kn the internet, getting into a relationship with a literal beast, being willing to fully commit to that prince in beast form.
Gaston saving her from degeneracy, and a beast known to hurt people.
Gaston being a Chad-but-Villain, you can see YouTube videos where women sexually assault Gaston actors.
But a handsome Farquaad, just as vain, is easy to make fun of because he is a manlet
>>41724495
perhaps the manlet stigma is indeed only mirrored
But we have historical references of manlets portrayed in Hollywood as jocks
Daniel Craig is 5'10" and he's James Bond, a hero.
Thinking about Bond Villains, Jaws is, what, 7'? 7'2".
The Incredibles also has a short manchild as a villain, the redhead.
Gastons creepy sidekick was an orbiter manlet.
Seems like the easy target is to portray villains as
>short men
who are
>lecherous, creepy, immature
which has a negative halo effect on ALL short men
short man = evil/creepy/immature/compensating/treacherous
but especially starting with Shrek 1.

>>41724586
Again i'm not refuting your theory, i just explained it in the context of Shrek bc it was the image you chose, you could also get positive manlet examples, i think yoda is the most famous one but yea i agree that there are not many "good manlets" after Shrek

Lol there's your problem right there. Jfc, online living has fried everyone's brains and obliterated perspective.
>>
>>41724586
>but especially starting with Shrek 1
It started with Napoleon Bonaparte. Old prussian and british war propaganda, I believe.

It’s cool for short people to do sports or comedy but they shouldn’t be in power lest their stature influence their policy making
>>

theres big oaf hate in movies too, as tumblr said they hate what is not economically viable and unexploitable. Heightism goes both ways I just want to say as a tall person who was neurodivergent but with high test scores/suggested to skip grades when young but didn't because I had speech impediment and was socially behind while testing high. The tall vs short spectrum is just another factor of life like how men can leverage intimidation and women can seduce, you may not get as much initial respect being short but short people get away with a lot of things, tall people are seen as aggressive when they don't mean to be. It isn't manlet or tall hate its hate for people who are not economically viable. I can't throw a ball so I am a waste of height, you can't reach the top shelf you so are a failed man(didn't grow enough). My first thought is the big Oaf retard character. Theres negative representations for everything that society deems not status quo. I agree heightism is worse for short men but imagine being tall and trying to be friendly like how women are to children and the children crying because of being tall and scary, and being at the store and having boomers call police on you because you are "big and intimidating" Also I am way taller than you, it isn't about your height, its about your sexual market value being low. If you are complaining about not being tall enough go to a country with shorter average height and you will magically have women like you if you can buy drinks. Here women want more economically. I agree there can be more short villains but this can just be a reflection of short men being seething manlets and not putting in work to self improve, the implication is physiognomy and short height being a reflection on your short character, if you put yourself into situations where you grow as a man then you will be reborn taller, sorry not sorry I was made taller by god because I am a bigger man spiritually emotionally and physically.

"as tumblr said" made me sound insufferable lmao, some bitch showed me a YouTube short voice over thing saying that was the lesson of Rudolf the red nose reindeer. The Okcupid studies show heightism in initial attraction but short men can just moneymaxx

It's never a good looking villain, it's always some creep, or dweeb, or incel, there's never a Chad villain.
Except in The Simpsons, Mr Scorpio.
Who are some other Chad villains?

>If you are complaining about not being tall enough go to a country with shorter average height and you will magically have women like you if you can buy drinks
It's about being economically viable, not height, but if I go to a shorter-average -height country and buy drinks... then your point is it IS heightism
I am currently economically viable enough to buy drinks right here,
but suddenly I'm "more" economically viable when the average height is shorter? and economically viability is what people want?
Did you mean to contradict yourself?
Money does help, for sure.
But for it to make a difference you must have an absurd amount of it, like 1 million per year.
And think about this, how many women will go live in a literal van with some hobo lookin' mf. I've seen plenty. Women will do anything for a man they like. Absolute mental gymnastics.
>My boyfriend's not racist, he just has strong opinions
>My boyfriend use to molest children, but people grow, people male mistakes
Never seen a woman simp for a short man like that.
And what if the woman is already economically viable, Warren Buffets daughter let's say.
She needs even more economic viability?
Are you sure?
Then why do I neber see country club/ski lodge women paired with short men?
Seems most women have a taller boyfriend regardless of economics?
>t. my 166k/yr and ability to buy drinks doesn't get me any tail whatsoever.

>>41724393
They're just terrified of short bvlls
>>
>>41724458
Damn, I never really thought about the witches as like his quasi harem, but it does seem like an interesting way to see it. I always saw it as platonic.
>>
>>41724458
Shrek was a truly jewish subversion of a classic fairy tale. Shrek himself is a nigger tier character.
>>
>>41724393
The same reason you hate ugly women with aberrant hormones and bad physiognomy.

>It's never a good looking villain, it's always some creep, or dweeb, or incel, there's never a Chad villain.
>Except in The Simpsons, Mr Scorpio.
>Who are some other Chad villains?

This is such cherry picking lol

> Loki in avengers
> many many other marvel villains
> dune villain (harkonens)
> anime villains

and it goes on and on

The book Split Infinity came out in 180 as the first of the Adept series and in that the main character and hero is around 5' and constantly talking about how the world looks down on him because of it.
