Unfortunately, nothing paranormal or outright supernatural is going to occur. No deus ex machina or get out of jail free cards - this is it. Things will be getting worse for all but a small percentage of the population that is positioned to benefit from the interesting times we're about to move into. It's going to get significantly more stressful, scary, and hopeless than it already is before things get better. We are all going to lose loved ones, third places (if any are even left for some of us), friends and allies, lifestyles, hobbies, entire fields of employment and communities; a vast putrefaction of everything. Only when things are truly hopeless, truly beyond repair - can something new begin to emerge from the fertile soil that the decayed corpse of the old world will become. I truly wish things didn't have to be that way. But it's genuinely and truly the only way. If I could have things go different I really really would, but there is nothing left to do but ride the horrific roller coaster we're about to embark on. Good luck to everyone, and Godspeed.
