Cryptids that are actually plausible.>The Beast of GévaudanA creature, or pair of creatures that killed over 100 people in rural France in the 18th century. It's most commonly described as a wolf, however contemporary reports describe it as having distinctly non-wolflike features such as a long tail, or the ability to jump several feet in the air. Thought to be an escaped hyena, lion, or something altogether unknown.>ThunderbirdMyths of giant birds have existed in North America since pre-Columbian times. Said to have a wingspan of over 30 feet, these birds could easily prey on humans and livestock. Theories range from small populations of extinct eagle species still living in remote areas, to surviving pterosaurs.>British Big CatsSightings of large cats or panthers in the British isles have been rumored for centuries, with a few pumas and lions being killed over the years.
The Northern Mexican OnzaA "mystery cat" that is described as a mountain cougar but runs way faster, considerably leaner, longer tail, longer ears, bigger paws, sometimes with spotted fur, famously howls "like a wailing woman" or kinda like a bizarre coyote, climbs on trees and sleeps there, known for being overtly aggressive and attacking dogs, horses and people.Arizona University (Tucson?) once analyzed some old pelts in rural houses and concluded it was a different species/offshoot of the common mountain cougar. They posted a cash reward if some hunter shot one but few known about it.Mexican authorities, known historically for being retarded, claim it doesn't exist despite ancient testimonies, old stories and current images about them because it doesn't align with their dogmatic academic scientists who only collect wages rather than investigate. Doesn't help the natural habitat of the Onza is also the same land as the cartel ranches and drug running routes.
>Feral Humans in the Appalacian MountainsThis isn’t so much a cryptid, but more so a fact of life that gets swept under the rug. However, I firmly believe that this is the explanation for certain cryptids seen around the area. There are lots of old abandoned homes, towns, mines, buildings, tunnels, and caves, all throughout those mountains.Plenty of places for these feral people to hide.Perhaps these feral humans have begun to branch off into different subspecies of humans.>Werewolf/bigfootLarge, hairy, and crazy man who prowls at night.Living off the land would already give you a more robust and archaic look.>VampiresAgain, with the high amount of caves and mines that scatter these mountains, who’s to say that feral people don’t inhabit these halls?Crawling around in the dark, losing hair over the generations, becoming pale and more nimble.Taking any kill they can to survive, even going for normal humans.>”Skin Walker/Wendigo”Neither of these monsters are inherently native to these mountains or part of the country, and it kinda pisses me off when normies just paste that shit into areas where it doesn’t belong. However, it doesn’t mean we can’t compare how feral people seem to act like how natives described these monsters to have acted.Even outside of feral people, it is not uncommon for people to lure other people into a kill by imitating cries for help or asking people to come towards them. This is all that I’ve got for the moment.
>>41746096Onzas are not cryptids
>>41746002Years ago I heard they had eventually caught two leopards in England at a spot where these big cats had been reported since the 80s, proving it was true, no?The cryptids I believe in the most are - 15+ meters long giant anacondas. There are old photographs of these and claims from explorers and soldiers, as well as locals of course.- 1 meter giant spiders of Congo. These were well known about in Belgium (and neighbor North of France where I grew up) from back when Congo was a colony of Belgium, for belgian explorers, officials and soldiers reported them. By the way there was a rumor in the mid 90s that while doing some work in the basement of a castle in England they had found a dead specimen of these that an explorer had bought up long ago, I never found any track of this on the internet though.- 40+ centimeters yellow spiders of Afghanistan. I remember soldiers showing photographs of these in around 2003 on the internet but nobody seems to remember now.- Orang Pendek, the pygmy humans in Indonesia. This one is a bit special because its existence is now recognized by science but it officially disappeared twelve thousand years ago while european explorers described seeing them during the seventeenth century.
>>41746002this kinda reminds me of the BrotherHood of the Wolf. My dood ran into a lion in the woods once. Plus it was a lesser known story that suddenly gained popularity in the last decade, so someone found some text or something idk.Feralhumans are the same thing basically.Thunderbird? Probably extinct now. But the Arizona Condor and nuclear radiation can maybe get close to it.British big cats? Nah thats just the indian trade route for you.Wendigo? Maybe if there was a sciencelab outbreak. That still is definitely not the original idea though.Vampires? When robots and cyborgs happen yes.Werewolf/Bigfoot? Nah these are just bears with mange. maybe an escaped pet gorilla.
>>41746600You're French? Took me a minute to figure out what the hell you were talking about. Thought you were a permaschizo. >vampires >wealth from undefined source >hates the crossJust a metaphor for jews
>>41746215>Cryptid: An animal that has been claimed to exist but never proven to existOnzas, due to the ignorance of official authorities and misidentification with other animals, is the definition of a cryptid albeit one hidden among other well-known animals like the Cougar, Bobcat, Coyote and Jaguarundis.>>41746600>this kinda reminds me of the BrotherHood of the WolfIt is about that albeit highly stylized and with creative licenses
>>41746195>it is not uncommon for people to lure other people into a kill by imitating cries for help or asking people to come towards themDoesn't explain the witnessed shapeshifting and the supposed rural animals knowing how to operate or understand human-made objects like doors with hinges, fridges among other things.
>>41746002Anyone know any good cryptid books? I am looking for something more serious, even if they aren't necessarily in favor of the existence of the cryptid, something like Passport to Magonia.

>>41746195I'll be honest and break a few lil unspoken rules i'm related to some of the families you are talking about we my klin left uh let's say common society to set up our own thing we aren't really as inbreed as the joke goes we do marry cousins though but we do know we need to marry other branches of the family and to not keep it all bottled up we often enough bring in fresh blood that it does not really matter much in terms of genetic bottle necks.we also have our own lil bit of magic the old ways old know how which herbs do what how to make things things that shouldnt really work but do..there was a time where a member had busted there finger with a hammer and it got infected so one of the older folks took a frog and while it was still alive opened it up and had the person put the finger inside it and the frog drew out the infection and helped it heal killed the frog cleary but yeah that's just one thing.the creatures you talk about some of em were there before us some came after some we invited.
>>41746002>DragonsGiant serpents are found in all mythologies, there are accounts all over the place, credible sighting in the last century. I just know there is something there, even if they aren't the pop culture image of a dragon
