Hello /x/, almost my whole life I have unknowingly been part of a cult-like church called the New Apostolic Church, with it's origins ranging back to 1830s, a man named Edward Irving, a man being removed from several churches for being "unfit", in that time seen as mentally ill. Things happening as "receiving" the holy spirits, speaking in tongues, spiritual gifts such as seeing which entities may be blocking your body and more other wacky shit. He is the one who created the Catholic Apostolic Church. The New Apostolic Church is a denomination from that directly. As CAC stopped believing there could be more apostles, but with the splitting off of 2 or 3 other people they created the NAC and started appointing more apostles and giving out "holy spirits"The most important factor of Edward Irving for me personally is that his biggest work (and his biggest inspiration) is that he translated the book "La venida del Mesías en gloria y majestad", in English; "The Coming of the Messiah in Majesty and Glory". This book was written by a Jesuit priest named Manuel Lacunza, dare I say more?To make things a bit more shorter, I will explain that Edward Irving believed in 3 sacraments,Baptism, Holy Communion, AND, Holy Sealing.Holy Sealing being the act of receiving the true Holy Spirit by an apostle with hands on your head. It is the last step in making the person that receives it part of the church, and having "God's Mark", a seal that can never be removed. As it is for always in my spiritual soul.(cont.)

Why bother? You're reasoning like a monotheist; the only way to leave a faith is to burn your bridges and choose another. Or you could be a poletheist; early in life, you were introduced to one of the gods, so why quarrel with him? If you don't like interacting with one, interact with others. They're in every bush, under every rock. This first one doesn't bother you in any way; you're free to choose.
