going back to small scale communities like i already mentioned - theyre a danger to the system. why do you think theyre still trying to further break family ties? you should cut ties with family if they voted x, you should move out as soon as you can or youre a loser, the plague of articles on how awful and difficult it is to have kids, how awful daughters in law are, how awful parents in law are, how family isnt dictated by blood but who you choose, and so on. obviously it backfires with low birth rates, people are lonely, depressed, and so on. the system is a snake that eats its own tail. but it needs you to create and consume so the economy can grow, and technology can progress.
so it tries to convince people that creating something for themselves is bad (family is oppression, having kids will ruin your life, relationships - pushing gender wars), finding your way outside the system, spirituality, and so on is something that keeps your loyalty on something other than the system.
and it is only the matter of the fact that the system in the west isnt as good in capitalising religion as it is in other places. i read that in israel you go to war if you arent an orthodox jew and have lots of kids. but jews are especially good at this stuff
