Does your soul temporarily leave your body while you're asleep?
I've wondered this many times, and I have no idea.I think that while dreaming you're more influenced by your subconscious, the collective unconscious, and whatever spirits want to mess around. It *feels* more likely to me that those forces are having a party somewhere inside your mind/brain, but maybe its instead constructing an environment outside of regular reality. If we assume that regular reality is itself an illusion built by belief (of either ourselves or a god), then it does seem reasonable that dreams would work similarly but on a smaller scale.

>>41761994This is an interesting question with an answer that doesn't really matter. I think we can agree that our consciousness enters different realms of dreaming, within dreams. I guess typical dreams that arise from the subconscious or as a natural process of the brain defragmenting are self-contained and therefore the soul wouldn't leave the physical body, regardless of the dream being dreamt, in these dreams. However, the hyper realistic dreams, or precognitive dreams, the lucid dreams, and the dreams in which we meet people of vast importance to our soul that may be dead in the physical world, -all these examples and more point me to accept a paranormal aspect present in the very nature of dreams by which the soul can test different realities that are completely outside the bounds of the physical world, as we understand it, and I would accept that in these rare but memorable occurrences the soul could be operating on a frequency, literally outside the physical body experiencing a higher reality simultaneous to your life on earth, while you are having a life on earth, leaving your body temporarily a husk, if I may dare to see it.Different people naturally have differing abilities when it comes to dreams but I've never met a wise man who ignores them completely. I often get lost in my dreams, I dream great things and I dream of love and positive change, in myself and the world. At night I have reoccurring nightmares, plane crashes, drug overdoses -from dreams I know how grateful it feels to survive- in reality it only gets worse, and the dreams echo it.
>>41761994I dunno but I have had a few dreams where I felt like I fell into my body and woke up. In one of them I was in some alien world, and was somehow intangible to them but they had devices that could sense me and were trying to find me. I seemed to be i a military aircraft hangar so they did not seem too pleased by my presence. I remember thinking "I really need to get outta here before they find me" and then with amazing velocity I fell back into my body and woke up.
