Is the increased popularity of this genre related to the geomagnetic event to get young people interested in rebuilding everything from scratch?
Will other survival media increase in popularity too as we get close to this event
>>
no it's just escapism for those who can't decipher even the most rudimentary of metaphors

It's actually escapism for those who can't pay a plane ticket

Nope. Just a function of realism. Artist decides to ask what would logically happen in an alternate reality then immediately proceeds to answer.
>>
no its just a lazy way to explain to the watcher/reader about the world, to characters that shouldn't need to be explained too

Reincarnation is real and the loss or sealing of memories is a part of it. The isekai genre is kind of just a what if power fantasy that appeals to a part of us that doesn't forget. That's why it's so popular as it's dealing with something we all deal with.

This guy gets it. I love isekai because life is boring and I am broke. My favorite is "Farming Life In Another world" because it depicts a life I would really enjoy living. "Campfire Cooking In Another World With My Absurd Skill" is another favorite. In both of these the protagonist gets everything he ever wanted through hospitality.

Campfire Cooking is literal canon, if it doesn't exist under pure land Buddhism then I call off the whole religion.

If it is disclosure, more likely to be to warm viewers up to the idea of other dimensions or something like that.

Glamping with what would be the ultimate pets just sounds like the comfiest life ever to me. Not to mention he gets rich doing it.

Isekai is getting increasingly popular because people have learnt that mundane reality doesn't give meaningful lessons and suffering is arbitrary here so they want a shortcut to a world where things feel enjoyable and adventurous.

elaborate please

Yeah in theory I'm supposed to crack down hard on the total violation of organic market value, except he is literally not at fault for most of it. The summons do all the work and he contributes massively to the economic situations of everyone involved, it is literally creating jobs if anything.

I mean like isekais are about people somehow leaving their home world(typically Earth), and getting transported to a different world(usually a fantastical, magical, otherworldly one).

So if people watch enough of that, then it might make them a bit more comfortable with the idea of other dimensions.

which is really completely fine

We are not approaching some event, we are in it - and unfortunately, this is called the collapse of society and population.
It's like the Dark Ages, only worse... few of their inhabitants understood the full extent and complexity of the period of decline, but here events happen faster and there is more information.
People's dissatisfaction requires compensation, which is provided to them in various forms by the collective creativity of humanity... but this is not enough.
Problems in reality, when people have knowledge, desires and the ability to compare, the ability to create and study, and also primitive needs (remember Maslow's pyramid of needs)
Who needs peace and a life of bill-paying to bill-paying, in a lousy job with no prospects, living in a kennel instead of a home, under the laws of some bastards? Normal animals don't reproduce when they're out of the wild or in poor conditions. This is happening all over the world, and those that remain... can be called "domesticated humans," or applied or service animals.
Because what sane parent would want such a life for their child? In the Soviet Union/Russia, schoolchildren usually write essays on what they'll do when they grow up... Do you think if we collected a database of such stories and compared them with what happened to these generations over the decades... how many people would cry upon learning their future? That's the future for 99.9% of people. It's a mess.
Giving up social life and work for the sake of overpaying bills (and living a poor, but personal life) in such conditions is simply one of the options, unfortunately not available to everyone - they are now very fond of driving people into slavery through debt, presenting it as the norm.
And if you want to fix all this, you simply won't have the resources. So what can you do? There's nowhere to go.
