It mentions alchemy and shit but it's not going to give you an occult awakening or anything. You can watch it yourself if you want, it's not like it's hard to find movies these days.

Quite a few of Burton's movies have heavy occult references in them. I know he's lifted the plot of Big Eyes among other flicks straight from Feral House publishing, who specialize in conspiratorial, occult, and underground books. Adam Parfrey and Boyd Rice started it, both closely entwined with the Manson case, and Boyd bridging the satanists of the 60s to modern day transgressive movements. Feral House is worth looking into for any /x/phile.
