One does not write these sort of things as an elaborate LARP. However, this looks like a retroactively constructed "tradition", similarly to Wicca. It appears to be an amalgamation of Gnosticism, Kabbalah, medieval demonology, and of course the actual existing reaper cults. The building blocks ARE from real traditions, but the specific combination presented in these books is a new invention. That does not devalue the work in the slightest however, as this is just how religions are made.I do not think I could pursue this path because it's a major commitment, according to the books you are not supposed to just pick and choose things. But this is some legit, valuable stuff and I would recommend these books to anyone who's into left-hand path and demonology etc.This reminds me of the multiple months I spent in total devotion to the Hindu goddess Kali Ma, I had a large image of her and did pujas to her daily, saying her mantra the entire day. With Kali, there are similar themes of skulls, blood, "reaping" souls, death and destruction. Also, both use red flowers for worship. It feels like Kali and Qayin are different cultures' interpretations of the same archetypal being. (Also: Qalmana > Kalmana - Kali Ma Namah?)
