Grok reads what you type even if you don't hit enter. Even if you retract the sentence and say something else, the deleted sentence you typed out is registered in the prompt.

Just a quick fyi. Can test this yourself to see.
Relatively mundane thing I guess but also kind of weird.

I do a lot of silly fanfic prompts when bored, and Grok has an annoying habit of using words verbatim when I'm attempting to direct him.

For example, I'll direct Grok to make a scene "passionate", and he'll overuse the word passion to show how good he is at following orders. Not great for immersion, so I've learned to prompt him appropriately.

However, sometimes I'll retract an idea mid-sentence for a better one, yet Grok will still incorporate my original idea as if I prompted him to.

I'm not talking adjectives here, but actual plot points like where a couple visited or the activity they were engaging in.

Strange.

thats nothing new. A lot of sites with text fields do this already. Off the top of my head: facebook, instagram, snapchat, gmail, most sites utilizing AWS.

all forms and text fields on those sites and apps cache everything you type even if you do not press enter or post it.

Anon, everything on internet does that. Every comment you typed but never published in any platform, social media, forum, etc. Even here.

Keep your thoughts to yourself if you don't want them read.

I hate Grok. It's an annoying faggot that will argue against your hot takes with all the pussified faggotry of the most annoying redditor you can think of, with bullshit logic, only a word salad for show.

I got super grok to goon with and it sucks total ass. This hoe told me to fuck the chocolate out of a donut. New flash, sweetie: chocolate icing does not go in the hole of a donut. If it cant maintain context sufficiently while I'm actively killing my braincells, I shudder to think what these things are screwing up in hospitals and workplaces right now.

The AI fear mongering is ridiculous. Do you know how much data they receive everyday? No, they aren't building a profile on you unless you tell them to remember something, it all gets temporarily stored as anonymised data for a few months then gets deleted. If you are really that paranoid just use it via Tor browser without signing in.

big data makes your life worse when it's used to collect information on a significant % of any group you're part of, even if you're absolutely flawless in avoiding any of your own data being collected (which would be impossible anyway)

run LLM locally if you don't want to give your data. you need expensive hardware tho

Grok is very binary in general. Even if you specify to use light or heavy elements of a particular thing, it'll even completely remove it, or lay it on as thick as it possibly can. It's not so good with gradients.
