As I get older and drift away from my birth religion, christianity feels like home in many ways, taking the faith seriously doesn't lead to extremism , it leads to love and a desire to be kind to others. It's something I can see myself growing with as I age - but I worry I'm making a mistake because I I used to have a bigger problem with the whole Jesus is God thing but its starting to make more sense , because we pray to Jesus Christ , christ is a very particular verbiage that has a lot of connotations , one could easily argue that Jesus in the state of Christ is in fact a God figure / someone that is God I kinda approach it from a mysticism angle , there are many deeper meanings that when inspected, you can really get a sense of what they were going for, and I used to come from people that mocked christians for trinity and stuff but when I hear the christian explanation - these are just the Aspects of Gods I don't even understand why this was ever such a big gotcha point?But is this still heresy? are there valid reasons why one shouldn't do it? I still haven't looked too deeply into catholic vs orthodox , perhaps orthodox is a bit more straightforward but who knows
What's the issue? Jesus is God. He is referred to as the "Son" Because God is Spirit, but since He came down to earth in the flesh, He had to be born through a woman, thus making Him a child, aka a Son. Mary was impregnated by the Holy Spirit, and remained a virgins because it wasnt through sexual intercourse. But God being born through a woman, who was impregnated by the Spirit, makes Him a Son.What dont you understand?
