Can someone explain the whole deal with Saturn and Saturn worship? I understand that that was the name of a deity in certain mythologies, but I want to understand how the planet ended up taking on that name, and why some worship the planet itself. When did that start? It's not like people in antiquity could've known it was the 6th planet from the sun, so did people only start to worship it once that was discovered?
