Im personally enjoying reading about Zen Buddhism.
>>
Buddhism isn't anything real. I mean the term is not anything meaningful.
>"Buddhism is famous for everything it never taught"
Is a meme I'm aware of, and agree with.
Brama-Yana was the original point of origin.
The path to the absolute.
I enjoy reading about Buddhism too, even if I don't agree with it completely.

Anything that was thought by the Solar Dynasty [jain and buddhist] is good for you, but is all derived from the ancient Kóryos ritual.
Basically Buddhism is a never ending Kóryos tapas exercise.
In ancient times the Kóryos ended with the Koryolanus being accepted by the Priesthood as a king that had priest status, and then that priest-king fo the horse-sacrifice and marring the Princess of the Land [that represented the local farmland elite].
In Buddhism that final priest-acceptance and the marrying ritual don't occur, so the participant continues in the "warband" for life, learning more and more esoteric and continuously performing tapas/austerities/heating exercises.
You could say that Buddhism is a warrior spiritual revolt against the priestly class, thus explains themutual animosity among the hinduist and buddhist in early period.

They missed the part where we are being farmed like lolcows, kind of important.
>>
You've convinced yourself you are being 'Milked' in order to cope with your own feelings of hopelessness which likely stems from your own lack of success in life.
The universe is not out to get you. You're only sabotaging yourself by convincing yourself you are a "special Victim".

I've been reading Theravada and zen stuff, mostly. Incorporating what I like into my overall belief and practice systems.

>I ignore actual Buddhism and just larp amour the bits I like.
Lmao.
>>
I've been trying to incorporate Buddhist things in my life this new year. I saw a video of Sarah Paine talking about Bushido, and how the Japanese have this fatalism in their culture. It's something that's really struck a chord with me. I'm going to write down a good thought, a good word, and good deed I've done each week. I want to learn more but I have no idea where to start. As can be seen >>41786922, this place is useless.

Anon. I know what i wrote in>>41786922
might sound batshit insane, but the Kóryos is the ritual that was performed by young warriors, and most of the transgressive parts of it were gradually abandoned by the Indo-European speaking populations.
Kóryos tradition is tge reason the Atharvaveda was accepted in the Vedas, because it was about tapas ritualism that anyone in the warrior and aggregates of the warband could perform, the tapas/esoteric/tantra part of it wasn't restricted [like the yajñas] to the priestly class.
Buddhism and Jainism is a radicalization of these esoteric tapas/tantras practices, to the point of considering authority of the Vedas anathema of the Just King/Koryolanus principle.

Consider starting your new year practice in April, it will go better for you than the dead of January.

I would look into EBT primarily. People really got bent out of shape with Vimalaramsi's style of teaching it, but the core idea is good. Realize that a very large portion of Buddhist teaching today is from commentaries by people who larp as being enlightened on things said by the Buddha that have historically had questionable translation to other languages.

The Buddha actually did know what he was talking about, and managed to generate a huge achievement in liberating large swathes of people in his time who had seriously limited access to this material or even thinking in this sense compared to what we have now.
Think about that, uneducated farmers spending 12+ hours a day in the fields achieved the very same liberation that monks sit in a temple 24 hours a day for 40 years to reach following, primarily, the commentaries.

If you can't sit there and read the suttas and fully understand them, at least start on a good path with something like In the Buddha's Words

Its gay as fuck

None of the parts people like about buddhism come from buddhism. Zen(chan) is the result of syncratism with taoism after buddhism came to china. Further evolved by the influence of native Japanese religion before getting shilled to your western ass. Likewise the much fetishized esotericism of Tibetan buddhism comes from its native shamanism. Sorcerous thai shit traces back to literal novels etc etc etc

The Buddha himself said to follow your own path and kill the Buddha if you find him right? Why not do that?
