None of the parts people like about buddhism come from buddhism. Zen(chan) is the result of syncratism with taoism after buddhism came to china. Further evolved by the influence of native Japanese religion before getting shilled to your western ass. Likewise the much fetishized esotericism of Tibetan buddhism comes from its native shamanism. Sorcerous thai shit traces back to literal novels etc etc etc
The Buddha himself said to follow your own path and kill the Buddha if you find him right? Why not do that?
