What would be a cool video game plot based on the schizo stuff you guys know? Morrowind is one of my favorite games of all time because of it's worldbuilding, the metaphysics and the in-game religion take inspirations mainly from Advaita Vedanta Hinduism, Gnosticism, Thelema, with hints of Catholicism, Islam, and Judaism. What are some other religions/mythologies that could make for an interesting backstory? I also really like a lot of the conspiracies here, especially the one about giants being kept underneath the earth and being fed beer and cheese, I think it's super imaginative and someone could absolutely do something creative with it. Keep the thread comfy please don't insult others, everyone is welcomed to share something.
>>41788005Thank you, anon. You unblocked my writer's block in a completely unrelated direction.
>>41788402I'm glad I was able to do something positive for you anon. I have a really deep love for Elder Scrolls lore and I'd love to be able to do something as good as that one day. Share what you're writing if you want, me personally I just want to create an interesting fantasy setting. There's so many posts about love spells and succubus summoning threads here, there must be a spell to enhance your creativity and summon your muses (other than alcohol and mushrooms kek). pic unrel just some art I have on my laptop, speaking of Star Wars I'm reading Supernatural Encounters and I'm enjoying it so far.
>>41788556Thank you. I write erotic gay fiction but have struggled to find inspiration for months.
>>41788005Let me get into my story (this will be long)Prophet AsylumMythology (quick summery)Before anything there existed It, The divine, (the Monad) or whatever you want to call it; it is the essence of all, the original singularity of the divine. And from the divine, it expressed two aspects of itself: the God of creation, Pathna (represented by the sun (and is just the Egyptian god of Ptah) (the one above all)), and the God of destruction, Nergill (represented by the moon (and is just the Mesopotamian god Nergal)(the one bellow all)) (as above so below). And from Pathna were begotten 7 primordial gods (the rule of 7), they being the gods of power, intelligence, death, art, wealth and space/time and the goddesses of life. And from the holy 7 they can beget different aspects of themselves, and as you stray further from the divine, the gods will start to become pagan gods and become weaker. And as they lived all in harmony within the astral realm. Nergill in his nature started to destroy, and by doing so, he angered and enraged most of the gods, and in their pride and ego (the fall of satin), they felt entitled to what Nergill would destroy. Hence, they started to conspire against him and seized a battle against him and eventually won; this resulted in them believing that they killed or, at the very least, extremely weakened him (you cant kill a god they only transform or fade). And due to the absence of the god of destruction, the material world's harmony was in disarray, causing an imbalance in equality and positions of power.
>>41788609Power SystemFaith This power system was heavily influenced by how religions behave (And just chaos magick theory and egregores). An individual can choose to have faith and be under a god's jurisdiction. And depending on what god you are under directly relates to the powers you have. (So if you were under the god of power, you would have powers relating to that.) But the caveat would be that you would have to follow the religious scripture (so if it said you can't fight on a Friday (because that's the day this god fought, and by not fighting, you're showing respect or something), then you wouldn't be able to fight that day). If you don't follow the rules, then you would have a punishment relating to what the scripter says would happen. Break the rules too many times and you will not be able to access the power of the god and would be labelled as a heretic (if you become a heretic, then most other religions won't allow you to join their religion).[1]
>>41788005Can combine current day physics and mythology lore like Half-Life did. All around you there are higher physical dimensions. We are one 3D sliver in 4D spatial dimension - meaning there is another 3D universe right beside us but we cannot traverse to. Tying in Fae lore from Ireland you can make a world that can be accessed through some technology (steam punk?) which lets you enter a parallel universe. Can have magic which is 'scientific' in the game which involves this parallel universe. An example would be a car on a hill in the second universe, but in your own it would be floating. Or a crane lifting something which in your universe appears like you are levitating an object magically. But in the game it is all rationalized scientifically.
>>41788615Additionally, not everyone would be able to access most of the powers of the god even though you're in the religion. So if you were some Joe Schmo, then you might get a slight buff (like increased mobility), but that's it; if you want to access more power, you would have to climb the hierarchy of the church within the religion (the higher you go, the more of the scripture you would be able to access, going from believer all the way to pope in 7 stages (rule of 7) (some religions may differ)). The more people who have faith in the god, the stronger the god would become. but then you might say, "But if that happens, there would be one god which everyone prays to, and all the rest would be forgotten," which is valid, but to counteract this, you can just point to corruption; whenever an institution becomes big, it will adversely become corrupt. This corruption would result in people abandoning the god and praying to a new one, so one church will never stay the strongest. (Really important: within this world, the belief that began under the god in power is actually a false assumption of the people living in there. What actually affects the religion's power is belief; if everyone believes this god is extremely strong, even if it has one follower, it will be extremely strong. (That's why the god of power only has one worshipper, and that's the prophet of power, but he is the strongest in the verse.) Also you might ask, "What about the pagan gods? Why would anyone pray to them? Don't they get weaker as you go further from the monad?" The reason why someone might pray to a pagan god is because of the restrictions. As you go further from the divine, yes, they get weaker, but their restrictions also lessen, so you won't be held to the same level as the holy 7. [2]
>>41788622Finality We have prophets, unlike going up to the church, which is decided by people within the church. Prophets are chosen representatives of the gods themselves, usually chosen at birth by the god; they have full rein of the gods' power and have a divine duty to carry out the gods' will. Just as there are 7 primordial gods, there are also 7 soul saints. The prophets can also do something extremely special, they can do invocations, this is where they can summon a mask from the astral realm, put it one, and do this dance ritual as they do it their mask starts to be lit on fire and as it burns and finally falls apart the living incarnation of the god lays within them (this is also last case as after you do this and the god leaves you die).Additionally, there are the 4 elements, which are not exclusive to any god and work like how most novels present it (i.e., most nobles can use the power, commoners are more rare, and you can cultivate this power by practice).[3]
>>41788639Noe the Rough plotI will just post the blurb"Caught in the middle of a convenience store robbery, Uri Choen, an 18-year-old shut-in NEET, had been shot and bled out to death in a random ditch! Waking up to find himself in a world of kingship, magic and gods. While just trying to make the most of his second life, a demonically-inspired deity had chosen him to be his prophet and to do the impossible! How would you pay someone back if you don't have the money?"As uri gets summoned into this world and he survives for a couple of days he falls asleep one random only to find himself laying on a different ground, as he gets up he notices that the ground is covered with this redish water (blood) and as he looks head in this endless vast he sees someone, its Nergill. Nergill is reveiled to be the person who summoned him and as he summoned him and saved his life he askes one simple thingTo kill god. (Pathna)and also tells him to be his prophet. There is also way way more, but i don't want to spaz out as i might just be Shiting this thread up.If you want to hear more just say, or you can read it as i have started to make it on royal roadhttps://www.royalroad.com/fiction/145481/prophet-asylum

>>41788673It's funny that when I make an explicitly positive thread and try to be kind to people on this board I immediately get energy vampires posting in my thread huh. I wouldn't even care if that guy was writing erotic gay porn if he was being serious and gave some exposition about what his story was about, Bastard Bonds is erotic gay porn and that's cool. >>41788659You aren't spazzing just post man, don't stifle your own creativity for fear of being cringe.
bump
bumping stimulating thread
I think it's simple. Guy lives his life, guy gets saved by something paranormal, breaks away slowly of his environment (family, friends), meets someone that guides him through the paranormal thing and then you can go anywhere from there. Always ABDCE (action before background, development, climax, and ending... the hug after sex, very important). Ending should usually be the hero accepting himself thanks to this new world in order to unlock a certain part of him and finally be complete. You could also do the lazy thing of ending on the fact that he was a schizo all along.Other than that, you could start with a friend pushing the hero to do something on a "dare" (ouija, chaos magick...). Hero caves in because of social pressure, things get out of hand, hero gets isolated, friend ends dying etc. The end is the hero mastering the chaos and as always, finding another part of himself he didn't knew existed. Finding himself. Becoming full. Unity inside.Sorry if this is a little raw, I used to be a writer and wrote a dozen short stories that went nowhere. My frustration on the state of storytelling this last decade has just won against my passion for putting words on paper. Good luck to you, enjoy it. If it ain't fun don't write it.
