The metabolism hastens on high fiber. The human body needs effective fiber in order to move out waste and keep things moving. Human diet and nutrition is an extremely complex subject and being fed the opinions of celebrity diet influencers is very different than doing your own reading and research.

"Early humans" arose 300,000 years ago. Lentils are an extremely recent addition to the human diet. There's this little thing called the Neolithic revolution, which was when humans began to transition from the hunter gatherers to sedentary farmers. This was not a positive change. You're making this vague, broad appeal to "Asia" without considering that all modern humans are eating diets that are very different to what we ate for the vast majority of our existence. Grains and starches simply weren't available as food sources for 99.99% of our existence so the suggestion that we're "supposed" to eat them is nonsensical. Putting that aside, I'm curious about what starches you imagine we foraged without tools. Could you elaborate on that? What exactly are these starches you think humans were eating 200,000 years ago? Because even with tools, wild grains are not a reliable food source and tubers are impossible to forage without digging tools.
