the short-term loan industry is full of demons. i had the misfortune to work for one company, full of these soulless monsters last year in a desperate attempt to lock down a job, and even though i long since quit, i regret it every day.i feel i've seriously damaged my soul, either in my own eyes or in the eyes of god by working in such an evil industry. i get daily flashbacks and find myself mindlessly repeating events or seeing faces of my tormentors when i'm not looking at my computer.what the fuck happened? am i just having an anxiety-induced breakdown after working a stressful shitty job in a stressful shitty industry? it doesn't help that these bloodsuckers are franchised, meaning i see their shitty logo around town and even other places i go, and my employment with them does come up in conversation every now and then. i've tried to take a more jovial, humorous approach to the whole thing but it's seriously starting to drive me a little crazy.it's an evil industry and i enabled them, even for a short amount of time, with my labor. have i damned myself?
