I unironically want to join the ISKCON religion, even if mostly for "aesthetics"-but not in the shitpost sense, in the IRL practice sense
>the personal liturgy involves bathing, clothing, putting to rest\waking, beautiful marble statues
>religion itself promotes playing with cute articulated dolls
>Brahmacharya (perfect mental-bodily celibacy) is HIGHLY praised
>beautiful music + comfy autistic system (chant X rounds a day, on a specific rosary\mala, in a specific way with the fingers, etc)
>amazing cosmology and lore
>cow sanctuaries (i LIKE cows)

the name of the religion is called Gaudiya Vaishnavism for starters and i hope you like washing feet with yogurt.

do you also believe that in 1492 a man named Chaitanya Mahaprabhu was literally God? because that's a major part of it. are you passionate about implimenting the Varnashrama dharma system world wide by any means necissary? (world wide 1 word government under the hindu caste system) because thats the ultimate goal of ISKCON

im a vaishnav and a devotee of the sriman lakshmi narayana (aka radha and krishna) been to plenty of temples.. do what you want i will never steer someone away from being a devotee of krishna but my advice is just stick to reading the bhagavad gita, the kali santarana upanishad and chanting the holy name and the 4 regulative principles and skip the rest, you can go to the temple for mangal aarti and festivals but don't get sucked into being free labor for what has become a literal corporation.
that's not even getting into the mythology that you have to 100% believe is literally true and not allegory and reading the srimad bhagavatam and Caitanya Caritamrita destoryed my faith in the whole thing desu. there is so much they don't tell you before you're in too deep and all i'll say is that now that we're this far into kali yuga there are no legit gurus of any lineage left alive nor will there be.

same anon. do you believe that the sun is closer to the earth than the moon? or that lunar eclipses are a giant demon head named rahu trying to eat the moon? or that eating onions is demonic?

if you're going to join i highly suggest buying Srila Prabhupadas original unedited books, get some close and tilak (face paint) a tulsi mala necklace, and set up a little home shrine and do it at home before you join anything, you may notice you're not into it anymore once you get it out of your system. this site is run by devotees so you'd still be supporting godbrothers and sisters https://krishnastore.com/

hare krishna srila prabhupada ki jai. i will forever be grateful to him for giving me the holy name (hari naam) which has fixed my mental health the way therapy and drugs never could, mental chanting cures my non stop internal monologue and intrusive thoughts over time with regular practice at least in my case, but i'll just leave it at that..... don't throw the baby out with the bath water sort of speak.

what do you think of the Ritvik vs mainstream ISKCON debate?
I admit it's very hard for me to adhere to a literalist Puranic Cosmology view. I also think Gaudiya Math is "more legit" than iskcon- but it's almost non-existent in latin america-
regarding regulative principles..I constantly drink coffee but I keep the other 3 (I TRY to do semen retention with a lot of effort, sometimes I fail tho)
I eat meat because my parents kinda force me to, but anyways we eat very few meat a week due to health issues (2 doctors in family= they said less meat is better)
