Here are two of mine:

Rattlesnake Island is an island on Lake Erie, right by Sandusky, Cedar Point, and a bunch of tourist attractions. It’s completely closed off to the public, only powerful rich people in the Cleveland area live or visit there (including many rumored mob members). It has long been rumored to be host to a bunch of weird shit because of how strict and secretive it is, most often human trafficking, as it’s well recorded that a bunch of Eastern European women are chosen to “work” there by wealthy guests. Personally, one of my neighbors growing up, and my brother’s best friend has a boat that they always take to the area, and that they invite us on. Occasionally, if the boat gets too close to the island they will blast these fucking loud ass air sirens, and they will have people physically go out to the deck to prevent you from landing there. It’s fucking strange. Here’s a good article on it: https://www.clevescene.com/news/rattlesnake-island-revealed-1520781/.

Holy Love Ministries is a Marian cult based in Easton, Ohio. According to the founder, she has apparitions of the Virgin Mary, and since the 90s she has gained a following, mostly of Spanish speaking people. They built a compound on a farm 15 mins from my childhood home, and they’re up to some weird shit. They often bus a bunch of Latinos into the city, and they seemingly hold events there to try and see the Virgin Mary. They always leave a bunch of weird fetus beads around the different parks in the area which I always see. You can see these on their website: https://www.holylove.org/rosary-of-the-unborn/. If you look around their site, and their leaders blog, you’ll see some real schizo shit. I’ve always had an urge to just drive into the place to see what’s up.

My hometown and a lot of the surrounding suburban towns are supposedly known for teen pregnancy rates, we even had safe sex being taught as far back as 5th grade, however I never personally encountered anything or anyone who represented this reputation

My local highschool had a murder take place there. Well...it is obviously a murder, but the mainstream media and bots insist he had an accident. Kendrick Johnson case is what I am referring to. Also, the swamp near my home supposedly has/had dead people found in it, like my gdad found a scalp in it many years ago.

Finally an interesting thread. First story was fantastic to read. Love those inside looks at secluded communities. For the second one, I suggest you go see by yourself what's out there if you can. What's the worst thing that could happen?

I’d be interested in doing so next time I’m at my parent’s home, though I’m worried about getting a trespass charge. There’s a golf course right next to their compound, and I’ve heard of them calling the police and chasing out people who get onto their property to try to get their balls back and stuff.
