anyone save the leyline or something portal thread? I think you had to ap or enter a differnent headspace at specific locations to face something cool. was maybe 3-5k words
Northern European countries have a lot of similar mythology about trees/forests being capable of housing portals to other worlds. Yggdrasil is a well known tree that has a connection to the spirit world, and perhaps what can be gleamed from this is that all trees hold this power (but lesser of course).Another thing those OP images reminded me of was the European character "The Green Man/Wild Man"https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Green_Man_(folklore)Might just be me but he seems very connected to all of this stuff if you ask me...
>>41822813Adding onto this, if you guys have ever seen the newest episodes of the show "Adventure Time" they delve surprisingly deep into the green man/Celtic & Norse forest mythos this season.Pic related is the "Heart of the Forest" a plant like being which acts as a portal to other worlds in the multiverse, all linked by the equivalent heart. Obviously this show's depiction of Yggdrasil. There are wizards in universe who draw power from this being and call the power "green magic" implying plants/trees are innately powerful on a fundamental & universal level, something not uncommon among real world mythos. The branching paths within the heart of the forest are called the "undergrowth" and it acts essentially as a collective unconscious, where pushed down memories go to be processed. The show doesn't directly call it a collective unconscious, but it's implied. Also the Green Man is possibly represented by one of two characters: Huntress Wizard (the character in pic related) or the Spirit Dream Warrior, her mentor. Both have connections to this "Green" phenomenon in the show and serve as very esoteric characters in purpose and behavior.Hopefully this isn't off-putting to the thread, you just really don't this is topic explored anywhere else in most media...
>>41822813Green doors in Europe are often called "Fairy doors" to the other world. It's not a new mythology at all. It's just something people rarely discuss.
watch out kids when you do get into the real stuff its quiet easy to become frustrated WITHHOWFUCKINGRETARDEDEVERYONEIS
