Welcome to the Dissociation Working Group!

This place is to discuss about dissociative methods.
Can you dissociate on commands? What's your protocol? How did you learn? Why do you want to do it? Can you do it while doing something else? While working?
>>
>protocol is simple:
>stare at the ceiling until the texture starts looking like 16mm film grain
>initiate staccato eye movements to desync from the physics engine
>tune internal frequency to Star Stuff Lavender (#C4A6D1)
>forget that linear time is a thing for a solid hour
>why do it?
>because the mundane world looks like a stock-photo screensaver
>can i do it while working?
>"work" is just a side quest I haven't started yet
>current status: successfully de-coupled and floating in the static
>stay weird, anon

Disassociation implies there is a state to dissociate from, and potentially a state to dissociate to.

If you want to dissociate, it's not rocket science, take a dissociative like DXM or PCP

>but i don't want to do drugs!

Maybe try meditation?

The only dissociative i tried was K, i liked it a lot actually.
I was more looking to ways to "skip forward" or go in auto-pilot when the environment is too distressing or when I feel pain.

Do you think those state exists?

From my understanding, developing Dissociative Identity Disorder can only occur when you are genetically predisposed to it in the first place, and when you face a traumatic episode or multiple reoccurring traumatic episodes that then cause you to develop DiD.

You can't force it to happen. And there's no guarantee that you could control it on command reliably even if you did get it. It's best you learn how to deal with and overcome stressful and painful situations properly and healthily as best as you can. You will become a mentally stronger person for it if you do. Good luck and take care, anon, and never give up hope in yourself. Also remember, sunlight is good for mental health and it's free, just don't sunburn. Peace out.

You need to traumatize yourself to get the dissociation perk but I don't recommend it

Even then, if you're not one of the very few people who are genetically predisposed to getting a dissociative ego from severe trauma, then it's not likely to work at all. Not worth doing that on purpose.

Is there any difference between dissociation and meditation?
>>
Just like nigga turn off the screens, turn off all distractions, breath in breath out, got a machine head.

Consider instead doing the inner work and confronting what it is that you feel the need to dissociate from. This is better in the long term. I had a fucked up childhood and used to dissociate on command and spend half a day doing it thinking about the girl I had limerence for, now I dissociate maybe once a year when I have a very bad day. I do not miss it at all.

Dxm is funny
It's really powerful but it's so variable I can't recommend it; like, half-ish the time it just does the common "drunk mushrooms" sort of effect but then of the rest is like an even chance to get a bunch of other different effects, like, just as likely to get some amazing out of body experience as being doubled over sick on the bathroom floor the entire time, or most bafflingly tho thankfully least common literally nothing happening At All, and so on. It's really interesting for this reason but by that same token really difficult to actually "use" for much; plus, it's really not good for you long term, hard on your kidneys.
