Going through all of this in past lives you realize how empty 'accomplishments' are. So what if you have 5mill or 2mill in your bank account - no matter what you buy frivously it'll be washed by the hedonistic treadmill. And if you've lived before there won't be an initial dopamine boost anyway. First lifers have all of these ideas about how somebody should live; however, after dying you realize it's all just society levers to get you to do things along with biology.Like say you procreated and had 5 children in another life. The next life you're a different person; different bloodline. What was the use of the first life? The ultimate answer is that hopefully your decisions in previous lives make the world a better place rather than indulging selfish desires and emotions.
