Let’s have a serious (as serious as /x/ can be) conversation. Do you have any paranormal experiences that would prove (or disprove) the theory of quantum immortality? E.g. miraculously surviving something like a fatal wound, car crash, etc? Did you wake up like nothing happened? Do you still have those scars?

Pretty sure I nearly died on my bike when I was in my teens, nothing exceptionally strange happened though

Ya lots of times, but sometimes the best case scenario can be fucked anyway. Immortality has me looking at death with desire
>>
>>41942544
yes. i’ve had several potential fatal NDEs and walked away totally unscathed.
>Lucky me!
i used to think i was just lucky, and it took me years to realize “luck” has nothing to do with it. each time i had a choice in th matter and, for whatever reason, i chose to survive.
>pro tip:
it helps to be a little bit pissed off

How quantum immortality could work scientifically:

quite few times i think i should be dead. many of those on my bike, few freak near misses with stuff dropping near me. unfortunately god is a cunt and refuses to finish me off and i'm too much of a pussy to do it myself. i hate life so much it's un-fucking-real.

The vertiginous question implies that there will always be an "I", and "I" cannot die. I am nothing but a pure observer.

according to op's image, quantum immortality is proof that "ourselves" is a successfull "manifestation" and not the resulting machinery nor the 'enviriomental effects' that many concern themselves with.
>>
>>41943984
you are trying to "pre-clude" existential question to occur "before" matter begins to persist tertially.
What if questions are "dead" matter that transcend cumultable realizations?

Yes, several times close to dying but still alive somehow. Bad ptsd though, I think I have TBI.

70mph motorcycle crash into a deer that jumped out of the edge of a corn field like a bullet.
>sent head first, lots of air distance
>land headfirst roll a few feet onto side of road
>helmet only with t-shirt and sneakers on.
>dont lose consciousness, almost get up but breath is knocked out and can't breath.

Very little road rash and 20mins later I was at the hospital and basically just able to catch my breath. They IV ket into me so they can 'check me'. Was at that point I realized If I would have just got up and continued on my day my back would not have been broken. but in that moment on the side of the road I 'told myself' that something bad happened.

Never accept defeat, as soon you accept a reality it becomes true. In the moment of great pain remember its not real.

and lemme guess, you still ride your bike don't you despite that experience. you bikers never learn

If we cannot experience death, then immortality loses all meaning. I understand your perspective.

Your very own life should be the proof, quantum immortality doesn't start from the very moement youre about to die and splits off, it begins before you're even born. The universe ensures you are born in the safest location possible, down to the exact year so that you never even get close to the potentiality of dying. It alters your personality in such a way that you naturally avoid suicidal tendancies and risky behavior.

Only had two times I avoided death, first as a kid climing a tree, I fell backwards off it but my shoe got caught on a branch and I was handing upside down above a sharp tree stump.
The second time was when I was planning to kill myself by jumping from a building, I'd scouted the location before and was writing my suicide note and making preperations. On the very day I finally decided to kill myself it was suddenly, with no prior warning, blocked off for construction work.

Have you ever had any dreams of succeeding?

Given the state of this world, there's probably a million timelines where I've eaten the bullet but it just keeps shifting me to another timeline where I decide to put it off.

So, we shouldn't conclude quantum immortality is real on the basis of near death experiences, because if you accept that your will regain consciousness in arbitrarily distant futures after succumbing to age, then you shouldn't expect the character of events following a NDE in a QI world to be anything physics-bending (unless you were to wake up in one of those arbitrarily distant futures).

I have lived and died many times.

My issue is that I have memories from before I was human.

I don't know what that implies about quantum immortality.

My two most prominent memories from before this world.

1. I remember existing in a place with one less axis of motion. (I'm not explaining this, I wasn't there for a long time period, but I do remember it.)
2. I remember a life I had on a world covered with wheat, we were fragile beings, we looked like grasshoppers in the face, but were somewhat bipedal, we technically used 4 legs to walk, but would use them as two pairs of two.
Hands were somewhat similar. Our arms separated into two stick like limbs from the elbow, at the end of each was two prehensile tendrils, where humans have fingers. So it was 4 tendrils per "hand unit" but two tendrils to each arm stick. They were more precise and flexible than human fingers, though less of them, opposability was obtained from varying the two sticks from the elbow and using the tendrils opposite. I lived an entire life on that wheat world, until my family and I all died in a cataclysm. I remember the event of dying, as it was because another object collided with my planet. I died staring at that object, it looked exactly like Earth's moon looks, except covered in vegetation, alive, vibrant, it was green, but the land features were identical to the moon. I was a teacher, at the school when the collision occurred. The air blast threw me out of the second floor hallway and onto the ground outside the building. Air pressure held me to the ground, as I watched the object from a distance, as I was slowly dying. I had a wife and a child. I died etching the image of the object in my mind, in case I ever had an opportunity for revenge. When I first became conscious as a human on planet Earth, my first conscious memory was staring at the moon. I think I forced myself here, over that.

Not in killing myself but I've had many dreams where I'm about to die, one of the most memorable was I was in a bus, and looked out the back window to see a nuke being dropped, I felt an enormous and profound sence of real peace knowing that I'd soon be dead.

Fell asleep while driving but miraculously woke up the second I collided with a highway median. Only damage were slight scratches on the wheels, nothing more. I vividly remember blacking out, but don’t remember a crash at all.
