I lived there most of my life, and seriously, some weird fucking shit is going on.It started for me when I was a kid. I was in the boy scouts, and one scary story we had sort of passed down was one about a werewolf. That story always stood out to me because it was the only one we had about Boxford specifically. All the other stories we told were just like typical scary stories to tell in the dark-type stuff, but the werewolf thing was like a real piece of local folklore. Kids in school talked about it a lot even if they weren’t in the boy scouts. It was something a lot of people just sort of knew. There was this one camp out when I was like 12 where one of the other scouts left the campsite and came back terrified. He said he saw a werewolf. He wasn’t trying to mess with us or anything, he really was super scared. It was enough for the adults to end up calling it for the night because they assumed he saw a bear and didn’t want us near that. I know this isn’t much on its own, but actually being there on the night someone claimed to see it caused me to get really interested in the whole thing in middle school. I’d ask people about the boxford werewolf whenever spooky shit came up in conversation and got actual responses most of the time. Even in high school when we were all generally past the age of just believing shit, people who said they saw it back when they were kids still swore up and down they really did see what they saw. This has always just sort of stayed on my mind. I thought it was weird just how talked about it was, I’m not exaggerating when I say everyone in my school knew. I took the cryptid pill in high school and came across the term Dogman. One day, I decided to just google stuff about the boxford werewolf for fun. I cannot fucking believe the rabbit hole it lead me down.
I found some reddit posts talking about various sightings of cryptids in the area. One of the reddit OPs I found went way off the deep end after his brother claimed to see it. He made a ton of posts on a different forum about some insane gangstalking shit that happened when he dug deeper. A year later, someone posted about that guy’s story on reddit and was immediately banned. This is just one of the many things I found. I also found a story on ghostsofamerica.com about a dogman in Boxford. The post sounds like it was written by a kid but It honestly reads exactly like the exact same type of shit I heard personally all throughout my time going to the schools there. There is so much stuff about weird shit in that town. There are posts about weird lights in the sky, a newspaper article from the 1700s warning about how there is a monster that attacks people passing through Boxford, and a story from the witch trials about how the devil appeared to some woman in the form of a fucking cross between man and beast. One of the big posts I saw even claimed to come from someone who was also in a local scout troop and saw something weird. I’m not making this shit up. It just goes on and on.I really do think something weird is going on in Boxford. Whenever I’m there I get this intense feeling. It's not dread, but I just feel this overwhelming presence in the air, like to the point where the air actually feels electric, like there’s just invisible stuff moving around you all the time. It's really hard to describe but I’m sure some people here know what I mean. Its like some weird energy shitI keep finding posts about stuff in Boxford but they never go anywhere. No one ever fucking talks about this but something is happening. don’t know nothin about Boxford but if you’ve ever been to Dogtown (sort of near Gloucester) that’s where the witches used to livev spooky hiking over that way just fyi, if you go off the trails you can still find the ruins of their huts

I'm from the area, and this brought up a memory of mine. My friend actually sent me this post, I don't really use 4chan. Anyway, I was at a LAN sleepover in high school (in Boxford) playing counterstrike with some kids I kinda knew. We weren't close friends, but we had started a cs clan. Me and one of them went out to get snacks at like 10pm or something, and this creature literally jumped out of the woods and in front of the car. He had to hit the brakes hard. It had like the head of a cat and the body of a monkey. This sounds so ridiculous, but it had this really long curly tail, sitting on its hind legs, and staring at us. Then it leaped into the woods on the other side. Like it fucking jumped far. We both saw it very clearly, and tried finding it online when we got back but couldn't find anything like it. It was pretty big, but not huge. probably like 4 feet tall sitting on its hind legs.
