yeah sure
do you have an easy to follow list of rules?
i am autistic and have been googling it and like
they say "ask a priest" or "don't be extreme:(("
NO
i am autistic and want al ist
LIST:
HERE IS WHAT DO
DO THIS AUTIST
>yesbos
do you have The List of Rules?
Assume I am a religious extremist and would follow the most retarded rules as long as they are Rules.
Thank.
>>
>>41979525
No reason to fast for any one particular date. Fast when you're trying to get God's attention for something important.
>>
>>41979549
daily rules for my autistic friend:
1 full meal
2 light meals max
3 no meat (I also add no fish)
>>
>>41979591
these seem to be lenient rules compared to doing it like a monk, right? is this common for laypeople, not following more extreme rules?
>>
>>41979552
don't eat meat on Fridays. ever.
>>
>>41979549
I do both moderation and abstinence. Moderation as in spending less time on my phone. Abstinence as in no coffee. You make your own list based on these two criteria.
>>
>>41979643
Not in scripture, into the trash it goes.
>>
>>41979652
... burn your Bible.
>>
>>41979631
Monks kind of due permanent fasting, which makes sense as it heightens their spiritual abilities and connection with the spirit world. There's no one true way to do it. Different churches do it differently.

what is black lent all about?
>>
>>41979775
black lent is hardcore mode
>>
>>41979794
is it worth?
>>
>>41979525
Not paranormal, fuck off
>>
>>41979678
Give up your hatred.
>>
>>41979801
I don't know. Never tried it. You'd better book a retreat at a monastery where you can seclude yourself from society because of the strict rules (not even allowed to drink water during the day). But it you do make it, then you'd get very close to the spirit. So in this respect it is worth it.
>>
>>41979811
Fasting does bring you closer to the spiritual world, so it is very much /x/

Only succubus possessed, and the like, are against fasting.
>>
>>41979825
>not even allowed to drink water during the day
what was the reasoning for this exactly?
>>
>>41979525
no, this is just how I live my life
365 days a year
>>
>>41979832
Retards think that being dehydrated makes them enlightened.
>>
Off the ciggies this year. The drink next year. Don't have the fortitude to do both at once right now but, God be good, I'll pull myself back together.
>>41979652
I mean you shouldn't eat meat ever, if you can avoid it. It's cruel.
>>
>>41979865
I started by quitting cigs too! And I couldn't do alcohol at the same time too. Thats a normal thing unfortunately. But in a year I've quit cigs, alcohol, weed, pron (in addition to several less severe habits). I did have several short relapses, but at some point I simply had developed the willpower with the help of God. Now I'm on sich a high level (in cant talk about it takes tok long). You're going to make it bro!
>>
>>41979865

>I mean you shouldn't eat meat ever, if you can avoid it. It's cruel.

Pescetarian, but I'll get there some day.
>>
>>41979525
Don't lentfags eat fish and pretend it isn't meat? Get fucked retards. Fish are meat, just admit you can't live without it.
>>
>>41979591
>daily rules for my autistic friend:
>1 full meal

tfw do this out of habit already
it feels good not to be bothered by sensations like hunger or cravings.
>>
>>41980063

I kinda figured something was off. But it us what it is.
>>
I'm already vegan
>>
>>41980185
I intend to stop eating fish at some stage, but a man can only do so much at one time.
>>
>>41979643
Do not listen to this jew. Stir-Fridays are the best.
>>
>>41979525
Maybe you could give up sucking big black cock?
>>
I'll probably eat a lot of tomato soup for dinner with bread and cheese. The grocery store makes tomato soup that is very nice.

Also just small meals
>>
>>41980346
cheese counts as meat
>>
>>41980226

There is vegan fish available from Gardien. Good enough in my opinion. Well, more than good enough imo, but just lacking in fish variety.
>>
>>41980356

Only if made with animal stomach, not all cheeses are.
>>
>>41979655
>burn your bible
>listen to a tripfag on an anime forum
>>
>>41980429
Vegan fish? Not sure if I'd ever eat that, what do they use to produce the fishy flavor/smell that isn't fish? Must be something gross...
>>
>>41980429
I don't know what gardien is, but I rarely use substitute foods. If I'm making a vegan or vegetarian dish I would rather make something that celebrates the ingredients rather than trying to mimic something else.
>>
>>41980504

>what do they use to produce the fishy flavor/smell

Algae oil I belive.

>Must be something gross...

Not as bad as real fish, lol!!!
>>
>>41980603

The thing is most vegetarians and vegans were animal product eaters for a significant amount of their lives, hence many want a substitute for things like milk, cheese, butter, meat, burgers, etc. If they started out vegans or at least vegetarias, they probably would agree.

I fasted on water only for 4 weeks and it was very difficult, but I was over 300+ pounds
I find if you abstain from food, extra water is very necessary due to the way the mind processes glucose and sugars and to provide fluids to transport the body fat into the processing centers to break it down into energy.
When you fast for such a long period of time, your mind actually switches to a new energy source, and I found my mind starting to operate and work at different timings and rhythms, instinct becomes extremely heightened, senses were very acute.
It is a very primal experience, but one that our bodies are evolved for.
We evolved to store body fat for seasonal changes and lean times. Its just extra energy, like having hot pockets sewed under your skin to snack on for later.
>>
>>41979525
Aw fuck yeah, my favorite time of year.
I quit being a bitch every time.
Go to the gym more, strict fasting, prayer. It's fucking great.
I do 24+ hrs fasts on Fridays, just water. First day sucks but you wake up feeling fine day 2.
Im gonna have a fucking 6 pack after this if lent hits as hard as it did last year.
>>
>>41979525
i will just give up masturbating for 40 days , does it count
>>
>>41979648
Phone thing yes.
Abstinence yes, but coffee is TOUGH for people. That's a good one. Probably possible to replace it with tea or caffiene pills.
>>41981043
4 weeks is unbelievable, fat fuck or not. I mean, maybe possible with a lot of supplements? Youd be deficient in everything in a week.
That's 19 lbs of fat loss assuming absolute zero motion, muscle atrophy aside. Don't do that. Lift heavy and stay at like 1900 calories daily and you'll lose over 1 lb of fat a week while growing muscle assuming you get 80% of your total body mass (lbs) in grams of protein.
It snowballs too, once the muscles grow you burn more and that deficit becomes heavier.
Don't damage yourself like that.
Also 300+ lbs just screams gluttony, anti-spiritual. Deadly sin.
>>
>>41979525
I'll do it. I'm going to give up animal meat.

I actually exercised during this and pushed myself by walking past fast food resteraunts.
It is a battle between the primal reptilian instincts to steer and control the bone meat blood flesh machine.
>>
>>41981773
It's thermogenics and chemistry. Your body doesn't operate on spirit. Walking is not exercise, that is your base mode of transportation.
If you really want to overcome your mental state, go to a gym and reach absolute failure. Not to the point of slight discomfort - failure. The point where no matter how hard you try, the shit isn't moving. Overcoming that "it hurts" to the point of complete failure stimulates the REAL primal shit.
First post had me hoping, this one reeks of bullshit. Youre probably still fat.

Everybody go read High Intensity Training The Mike Mentzer Way by John Little right now. This is /x/ related.

can fasting get rid of the succubus?
>>
>>41982816
To lure out the succubus you need to do SR. Then when it manifests in your dreams, you need to renounce it. Just try it for 40 days while we do the fasting.

fasting for 40 fucking days? How in the fuck am I going to be able to manage that? No soda either? Just water? And small snacks? 40 days? Are you shitting me? There's no way.
>>
>>41979552
>Fast when you're trying to get God's attention for something important
Elaborate please?
>>
Early Christians did the "Black Fast" for a month, which means no eating or drinking during daylight hours. They could only eat/drink before dawn, or after sunset. This type of fasting was later adopted by Islam (Ramadan)

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Fast
>>
>>41983118
Not trying to be obtuse here, but elaborate on what exactly?
>>
>>41983076
Are you a burger by any chance? You just named two easy items to quit the next 40 days: snacks and soda. Commit to these two changes in your life.
>>
>>41983321
Thank you,
I've been trying find more info on this, because I heard that the early christian did a ramadan style fast but never could find a source for it.

I am doing this fast this year

the Catholic Church allows dairy and eggs, and fish; and you would be allowed to break the lent on Sundays.
But if you're doing a black lent as other anons suggested then yeah it's hardcore mode.

No food.

PERIOD.

That's it. Good luck and hopefully you can make it. I could help you by mentioning which minerals and vitamins you can and should eat, but you seem like a smart enough guy to figure it out.
>>
>>41979525
It's 0604 on the 18th is it too late to start? I had a Danish about 0400
>>
>>41979549
I struggled with this too at first but there are no strict rules to Lent specifically because the point is not to blindly follow a list of strict rules, the point is that you're responsible for your own Lent.
The only mandatory rule is fasting on the first (Ash Wednesday) and last day (Good Friday). Catholic fasting means one (1) normal meal during the day, and max 2 collations (snacks). The addition of both collations should be less food than the normal meal.
The rest is up to you. That doesn't mean "do the bare minimum" but that doesn't mean "do something stupid extreme" either. You're a grown adult, you know better than anyone where you're lacking and which type of fasting would be best for you. Sometimes fasting from certain habits is more fruitful than simply not eating for long periods of time.
The Church respects your intelligence and trusts you to make the best of this time.
>Assume I am a religious extremist
If you were, you'd already know exactly what type of fast you'd do for it. You're not, so doing something extreme would be nonsensical
>>
i'm preparing to give up rolling round town in a tuned civic with the system up and shooting semi-automatic weapons (40 days)
>>

fuck you for posting a picture of a delicious cheeseburger.
Only 12 hours into fasting. this is going to suck.
>>

brothers, I want this Lent to also be an end to my alcohol consumption. I have been drinking for 25 years now, some weeks daily, somtimes quitting for 2-3 weeks. sometimes getting drunk by myself, ither times keeping the addiction under control. I have slowly reduced my drinking in the past 2-3 weeks. yesterday I had a fair amount of drinking throughout the day. Can I quit now and never drink again? I intend to extend the 40 days of Lent (until Orthodox Easter) no drinking period to forever. I know there are some health risks associated with quitting, but I did it before and no symptoms happened. Are the risks real? would they appearbin 40 days? Also I pray for everyone on this thread to have a cleansing and enlightening Lent this period.
>>

>I know there are some health risks associated with quitting
Only if you are physically addicted. Then you have to taper. Otherwise you should be fine.
>>
>>41979525
I have questions about Christianity. I don’t know where else to really ask.
