I keep having dreams where I am watching grainy medieval found footage on a vintage projector, but there is an unnerving feeling like the figures in the footage are aware that I'm watching them. After a while I jolt awake. What does it mean?

Could you go Into more detail about them?

Are you already aware of the concept of medieval found footage as talked about on this board, or did you have this dream unprompted?

I assumed it had been discussed on the board but the concept came to me through YouTube iceberg videos, and I have also an interest in historical things that seem anachronistic like the Baghdad battery

Sure. Dreams take place inside a small private theatre type room which is pitch black save for an old-school projector in the middle and the film it's projecting is lowish quality black and white or sepia. Footage seems based partly on variations of the images you can find of the theme. There were scenes of sweeping landscapes of forests and castles with figures barely visible, barren plains with winds, medieval people milling around sparse villages who every so often look into the direction of the camera but were far enough you couldn't make out detailed faces. Towards the end the shots are of the people moving closer to the camera/looking toward it continuously, and I feel a sense of agitation or an apprehensiveness that they are fully aware of me/the camera's presence mixed with fear something is behind me or in the dark part of the theatre.

You're astral projecting into the past, but your superego makes this very difficult for you — so it shows up in the only form it can without triggering your internal "agent smith" programming that says this MUST be a dream, and so the brain instills more "dream-like" qualities to the projection.

All humans are psychic — we are trained from birth to believe otherwise. Especially men, we start from a young age with a statistically-higher ceiling than girls when it comes to intuition: here's a study I actually remember - or at least I remember participating in an incredibly similar series of studies when I was a kid (I was Texas GT) - https://ijhc.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/Hallman-5-3.pdf

https://psycnet.apa.org/record/1975-26556-001 - men do better at intuition games and luck-games when they're trying to impress women; there is limited evidence when women are in the same position, however (doesn't mean women don't do this too, though. There's just little evidence so far).

https://www.research.ed.ac.uk/en/publications/luck-in-action-belief-in-good-luck-psi-mediated-instrumental-resp-2/ - sincere belief in good luck is often more than enough for you to do measurably better than your peers.

To reiterate — you are astral projecting into the past. I don't know why you are, but you are. Your superego rejects it as reality so it puts a funky filter over it to "accept it". The people you are seeing are aware of you on a metaphysical level, but not consciously; you only have a tangential effect on them at absolute best. Even the greatest masters can only barely affect the past via projection. I would say that you're an ultra novice right now.

I wouldn't go any further if I were you, either. Astral projection is a two-way door; shit might get attached to you (not yet at least), or malevolent actors in the present will find you and exploit you. Juice also isn't worth the squeeze — the past is way more boring than the present to be honest.

Tonight when you lay down to go to sleep, tired, as you drift to sleep think of this dream. The details. The moments before falling asleep are when a person has the most access to their dream memory recall. But, to put it to test, if you don't believe, you could, in that pre-sleep state, recall one road that you've been on in your dreams. You'll find that in this state you could easily remember where up to a dozen or more roads have gone in your dreams. Also, other anon is right about astralprojecting. Do with that info what you will.
