I believe that believing in a self or not has real consequences for our fate after death. Do you believe in Atman, Anatman, or something else?
>>41995803Hinduism, (in the most vaguest sense) is probably true or has a lot of truth. well it makes sense since most spiritual ideas and concepts come from Hinduism.Anyways here is everything about Hinduism and Buddhism.Buddhismmagnet:?xt=urn:btih:7e4b611ae8cff80c76d6385284d7d279307715d1&tr=udp%3A%2F%2Fconcen.org%3A6969&dn=Theoccult.click+Content+Leaked+%28Part17%29+Buddhism&xl=394660819472Hinduismmagnet:?xt=urn:btih:a2fe286233c1e3877cea4f9631f959f8e466c8a0&tr=udp%3A%2F%2Fconcen.org%3A6969&dn=Theoccult.click+Content+Leaked+%28Part13%29+Hinduism&xl=130893951557Its like 100gb each, respectfully ofc
>>41995826Aside from Atman and Anatman, what are some things that Buddhism contradicts with Hinduism? I can only think of like>buddhism doesn't give a shit about devas or brahmin because they can't ultimately liberate you from suffering
also why did buddha become assimilated in the dashavatara as an avatar of vishnu
>>41996059I don't really see any contradictions, and Atman is preached as Buddha in the final Mahayana Sutra, the Nirvana Sutra. I think Buddha is an incarnation of Vishnu, as I believe it says in the scriptures. Bodhi means intelligence in Sanskrit. It could just be the Sanskrit worship of Intelligence, under a particular Avatar of Vishnu.
>>41996059hinduism aims for apotheosis (all-self) and buddhism obliteration (no-self), most differences stem from atman/anatman >>41996074because Hinduism is a universalizing ethnic religion with broad cosmology that absorbs nearby faiths and gods within its ritual framework
>>41996074not all of Hinduism agrees on this, some say Buddha others say it's Balarama, Gaudiya Vaishnavism (known commonly as the hare krishna movement) says it's buddha and that Balarma is an avatar of Adi Sesha Naga (the giant snake that lord vishnu sleeps on) per the teachings of the Srimad Bhagavatam
>>41995803Not necessarily a self/soul, but I agree the fundamental difference between most Buddhist and Hindu philosophies is the concept of externality. Some thing or some I or some dynamic being eternally present and self-defining/independent = HinduismThere is no thing or self or even system that is eternal or independent. All things are temporary and relative. = Buddhism
>>41997213>the concept of externalityEternality*
>>41995803>and buddhism obliteration (no-self), most differences stem from atman/anatmanAnatman and anatta means "not atman" and "not self". There's an important distinction between "no" and "not" and they have very different meanings. Atman is not this, atman is not that. What is left? It's not obliteration, but liberation from thoughtforms creating an identity of a self. What you think you become and create, even more so in the spirit world where you can instantly create, travel and become what you think.
>>41995803Souls, Gods
>>41997866>There's an important distinction between "no" and "not"What is it? Because your liberation leads to the same result. So far the distinction is without difference.
