Whenever reincarnation is mentioned, everyone pretty much assumes you die and then get reborn sometime later. You might even remember 'past lives'. Why does reincarnation have to follow such rigid parameters like only moving linear with time. Whose to say you couldn't be reincarnated as someone (or something) from the past. It doesn't make sense for a metaphysical action would be limited to something as rudimentary as the forward passage of time, especially when we already know that how we physically interact with time is relative to each person and can be altered, albeit on a miniscule level.
