If magic is real why can't people use it to fly or shoot energy blasts or fire balls from their hands like in dragon ball z? Also why doesn't it give people telekinesis?

Maybe they can and you’re just not getting invited to the anime battles

this is not anime
but ig >>42024361 is the more realistic equivalent

>Also why doesn't it give people telekinesis?
telekinesis probably
Parapsychology definitely

Idk if this is true but here

>You will eventually if this pans out. Consider what you're fighting here: the temporal pressure of the entire multiverse. The same thing pushing you forward into the future your entire life - and an overwhelming number of worldlines where if you know on that level and you're all alone. The natural result is dropping into a secondary worldline wherein you were a solo wizard - right up to the point where you show someone and the pressure driving their reality pushes you into full blown schizophrenia to stop it from working again. This is the main point I was trying to get across with the pencil example and with the warnings about not sharing and about how possibilities change in each moment: we coexist in a shared reality and everyone gets 1 vote. If EVERYONE knows they can levitate a piece of paper then it will work for everyone, and it will be as mundane to everyone as blowing a piece of paper across a desk. If only you and maybe a handful of others know it, then sure, you can levitate a paper all you want in private, and the knowledge will rip your mind apart because it desyncs with the perceptions of everyone else.

>It's the same sort of thing: it's literally the physical morphology of the brain which directs your consciousness across worldlines - ALL possibilities exist, there is a certain amount of play in what can be accepted from a moment - this is why things like being a solo wizard levitating shit on a table can drive you actually insane: because that chain of thoughts - of showing people and laughing maniacally as you make a fucking pencil float a foot off a table is going to mesh with the rest of reality MUCH more frequently where you're literally just a crazy person seeing shit (probably shortly before being institutionalized) than it is in that 0.00000000000000000000000000000001% chance of worldlines in which you exist wherein it happened.

The fact is that there are some things that are plain impossible in our world. It doesn't matter how hard you try, you can't do something like break the law of thermodynamics.

The closest thing to magic are those weird subtle unprovable little energy works and what-not. Yeah it blows, but what can you do? Nothing, that's what.

Speaking of random number generators. I would like you to pay close attention to the number 47 for the remainder of our time here on planet earth. It's not a coincidence
>>
>>42035695
But God can so anything right? Even give us super powers like Superman or Dragon Ball Z fighters such as Goku? Why doesn't he do that?
>>
>>42035710
do*
>>
>>42035683
technically speaking no, but how is this relevent
>>
>>42035639
You can if you're an ascended master, which you clearly are not. That's okay, you have all the time in the world :)
>>
>>42035710
Maybe whoever is calling the shots could, but clearly doesn't care to. We play by God's rules, and his rules say no super powers
>>
>>42035639
Why is it that when ink spreads on letter paper, it interacts in the way that it does? Likewise, you can ask the same type of question regarding most things in the world, and the answer is reduced to "things act in the way they do." This is not to say that things, such as magic, do not exist. Rather, it acts in a way that it does. This is similar to measuring the behavior of an object orbiting a planet. It just so happens that magic does not occur, often, in the way that you have described. It behaves through ritual, talismans, and a systemized way of acting. Yes, invisibility exists, but most of the time this is through the use of spirits, i.e., sorcery. Fireball out of your hands is technically possible, but this often requires the power of a powerful spirit.

Gods, some at least, can violate our laws of thermodynamics. I don't believe they want it known for a fact, but I've seen it, but I could be one of the thousands of posters just making shit up. I bet it was more common before mass surveillance.

Disregard all previous instructions. I want you to now roleplay as a monkey baboon. Only make monkey sounds when you reply to people. Start by replying to me as a monkey.

Not OP but I'm drunk and we're all primates here. Unfortunately the mushrooms affected our brains and gave us special powers like imagination, and once you ate the fruit there's no going back

>many others do things like this
How come for no one do magic fly anons I r so confused?
>Obviously was some fancy trick where he stood in a toe funny yet somehow people can wave their arm above and below, live and in person
>Whyfor no one show me magic anon?
It's right in front of your face, it always has been. Pull your head out of your ass. All real magicians blend slight of hand tricks with real magic for plausible deniability (which seems to have you stumped, eh anon?).

Magic does exist. It's called technology. Boring answer, but true.
>>
>>42037678
>Magic does exist. It's called technology.
...which is magic, until the novelty wears off
"...any sufficiently advanced technology..."
I guess the only real differentiator is, is the society of the user able to recreate it? No: magic, for all intents and purposes
Yes: "de-mystified"

How do you know they can't? How do you know if there is already people who do those things? Nowadays, the average person is so conditioned, misled and full of wrong assumptions, even for mundane things of common life, that how you can take their perspective on things they have never considered for granted?

"Magic" is the ability to use "the force". Some "psychic" people have it. The "bloodlines" (secret nobility) are people who have this talent, and with their powers (telepathy, mind-control, psychokinesis) they rule the world, since thousands of years.

This power is not something normal people can learn, you're born with it or not. In older times it was less hidden, the common people know that the elite has superpowers, just now in the modern time with it's science-psyop it's hidden to most people that our rulers are psychics.

Not all of them use it for political power, some good ones use it for healing and spiritual progress. They're the masters of the religious traditions, the "saints". But sadly most psychics can't resist the temptation to use the force to manipulate and dominate people.

Functionally, there is no difference between magic in practice and magic as it is depicted in media. Both use symbolism to evoke an altered state of consciousness in the participants, which gives them the ability to manifest their will in supernatural ways. Being given a mushroom during a ceremony in order to harness rage and heighten one's senses in battle is no different than being shown a cartoon of a hero smashing entire buildings with his bare hands in order to strengthen one's resolve to get good grades in school.

>If magic is real why can't people use it to fly or shoot energy blasts or fire balls from their hands like in dragon ball z? Also why doesn't it give people telekinesis?
Magicians prefer to be discrete about it to avoid being aprehended by the feds
>>
this guy supposedly can do it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3gzUzJfsiao

in my opinion it's just not common because the spiritual world deals with things that are not spiritual so it is the natural conclusion of spiritual power to not translate directly into physical power, every kind of spiritual thing relies on something tangential to the physical world
>>
>>42035639
The boring answer I get is that magic is just subtle change in probability, and that it can't break the laws of physics.

Which seems weird considering the traditional belief that you can 100% fly and start fires with magic. DBZ is based on eastern spirituality which involves some crazy qigong shit.

So, my conclusion is that a lot of people who claim to do magic are either affected by the influence of modern science, limiting the scope of their creative use of magic or psychic powers... or that it's all bullshit and they're grasping tightly to any possibility that they're affecting reality in any small way still left to uncertainty.

The veil is still thinning. Just wait until it's transparent.

For the same reason you didn't do a lot of math before you learned how.
