Second, both the sun and moon can't be too close or too far or it would have negative effects on the earth. So there's a very limited range they can be in and they just happen to be close enough within that range for humans to go "good enough" and call it perfect.

We have the means to study space but not in as much detail as we'd like. It's expensive and very slow right now. Probs are aliens due to the size and age of the universe. We personally will probably never see any part of space outside our own galaxy and we'd don't even know if we are living in the oldest galaxy. We are living in a good age for space exploration but we'll never see the good stuff. May get robots on Mars and some structure and we may be able to land some probes on other planets.
