The grays are real. Time (as perceived) is very likely not.
Besides they seem to be nothing more than "robots" albeit they are flesh and bone.

The greys are evolved whales, just like we evolved from primates and they still exist alongside with us, the greys evolved from whales and dolphins, which explains the grey skin, large brains, black eyes, and why so many ships come out of the water.

Maybe at some point they had cities on the surface, maybe that's what atlantis was, but at some point they just ended up staying down there.

If they change our present, changing our future, why would they go back to their past to change their present?
I mean, if they are fucked, they'd go back, but if they succeed, they won't need to travel to the past, it's a paradox.
You can say our future is already saved, therefore they need to come back and do as others did in their past, but what about the butterfly effect?
