>>42086172I put this in a greentext thread a while ago and since then I found out about the strange "moving trees" of rural Australia which are attributed to an optical illusion causing a parallax effect, but I had this experience before I found out about them.>Camping with three friends over the weekend>On the way there, pass a paddock with an old wooden electrical pylon, a modern concrete one, and off in the distance, one of those massive national grid ones made of steel>Remember this because it looks like some sort of diagram out of a school book>Camping is fine. Nothing untoward or strange happens>We set off late on Sunday and pass the same spot after dark>As we drive past, there is another pole there>I have no other way to describe this other than that extra pole stood up>It had at least three legs>It runs parallel to the car traveling at 80km/h for about 2 seconds, then changes direction and zips off into the darkness>All of us saw it, none of us knew what it was>We didn't stop. Driver sped up to 100km/h until we hit the next town>Didn't talk about it until the next dayI think this is the same cryptid as those moving trees. They don't appear in any aboriginal Dreamtime story that I know of. Aside from the odd person being told that they saw an optical illusion, there aren't any stories about them either. I don't think there is even a name for what these things are.
