Got any lost media that you're looking for?
Just a quick disclaimer: I know that there is some debate on what exactly constitutes lost media. I follow a "If I can't find it, it's lost" mentality, even if that means it's not literally lost. I've been looking for a movie or tv show that I used to see on DVD for rent in my local video store as a kid. I have no idea what the movie is called, but given the creepy cover art I am assuming it was a horror movie. I never actually *saw* the movie, only the cover art. I was mesmerized by the cover, I found it so weird! The cover was a close-up of a woman's face with blood streaming down and coming out of the caruncle (the red part) of the eye socket. Here's a shitty MS paint representation I made out of it using the poster for the movie Scream. From my memory, it looked exactly like this. Does anybody know what I'm talking about?
>>42115602Yeah I DO actually. Whatever happened to the documentary the WARNING of what would happen is Crater Lake (an active volcano in Oregon) fucking explodes... Why? Well according to this documentary thing it would've happened because of the "Big One" the massive earthquake in California that's supposed to happen in 205X. They showed how that earthquake would cause CL to blow engulfing Oregon in lava even reaching northern California. I SAW IT i swear i did and yet i cannot find it to this day....
The cut ending to The Shining. Probably destroyed and will never be found.
a webcomic strip I saw around 2011-2013. A guy is finally home alone. He thinks to himself "You know what that means...PORN!" and as he is running toward his computer he turns around and sees his cat just staring at him in a creepy way and the panel just keeps zooming in on the cat's piercing eyes.
Black and white photo of a young girl in a backyard and there is some grim reaper esque figure behind her. I think there was a creepy pasta to go with it that the grim reaper wasn’t there when the picture was taken. Possibly a cursed image. Used to get posted here a lot 10-15 years ago. Possibly from or used as an underground album cover.
>>42115640I vaguely remember something like that on Discovery Channel
>>42115602>be me way back>teenager looking through facebook groups>see many very specific peices of art to advertise the game>never see those images again after game gets popularanons im looking for some of the really old undertale art of like pre undertale fame, specifically an image of toriel cutely drawn with a sign in front of her saying "play more undertale" there was a huge swath of play more undertale in the early days right before it popped off and ive never been able to find the art of sans, toriel or frisk with signs that read "play more undertale" its ironically one of the only crucial memories ive had and i even searched the sespool tumblr desu but i think because i can only search for stuff pre porn whipe i feel these peices of art are lost as a lot of people on tumblr whiped their entire profiles of all their art during the porn purge
There's someone out there who will remember this, but a television children's show called Lift Off (1992 to 1995) that contains a faceless child doll that animates and joins a group of children in their adventures. It's incredibly surreal and I doubted the memory as being something I made up as a kid, but I came across it again recently and had the strongest sense of catharsis when I did. It's not strictly lost media, but nobody recalls it these days but everyone remembers the faceless doll child.
A video where a Japanese (or some other asian) tutor in a white button shirt and black skirt is teaching her student some lessons. As he is on the computer, she tazes him, and wraps him in plastic wrap and lays him on the couch. His head is on the arm rest of the couch and she starts grinding on his face until he wakes up and starts moaning and crying Used to watch this a lot in my high school years
>>42115655And what about the 20 minutes that got cut frkm 2001: A Space Odyssey? Of that one there is literally nothing.
>>42115602I remember faintly from my early childhood a song that was in Japanese that kind of sounded like kee rah mih sun and I still to this day don't know if it is even real. I at one point was convinced it was from a Minecraft server but idk
I remember I was at a sleepover with some kids my age , and i stayed up late when they went to sleep. I remember seeing a movie being played on the tv had an Alien , the bob headed Aliens with lens cap eyes, got on a motorcycle and was ready to drive off. He wore a leather jacket and a helmet. For an idea, it was like that michael jackson music video where he danced with a bunny wearing a biker outfitThe Alien got on the bike during nighttime on a busy street or on the freeway. It feels like something i dreamed entirely as a kid, but i don’t know and can’t confirm.
>>42115602Yeah, this album. It's rap, but there's a crappy non-rap album there in it's place with the same name and album cover!! The fake one sucks ass!!!
>>42117522I have the songs "They" and "Police State" but I am missing the others
>>42115655I've heard rumors that it's exclusively half an hour Kubrick doing wresting moves on Shelly Duvall. Again, rumors, but very big if true.
>>42115602On my older brother's computer in the mid 2010's, sometime in 2006-7 to be sure, I was scrolling around and came across what I assume to be a Chinese meme of some sort. Two younger, college-aged Asian guys sat across from each other on either side of the picture, each sitting in red and yellow large cushioned chairs, with the background being a dim room that somewhat resembled an American classroom with green flat carpeting, white drywall and distant fluorescent lighting with a wooden desk and a computer in the middle with a mug of pencils / pens and other miscellaneous shit around the desk. The men were glancing at each other with a languid, tired look on their faces, something resembling frustration. There were a few lines of Chinese characters on each corner of the picture to the opposite side of where each one of them sat. I was quite young and the picture had a strange effect on me, probably due to the foreign styling, but never forgot about it and always wonder if I'll stumble across it again one day.
>>42115602Need help finding this movie i saw as a kid. It’s about these kids playing in the woods and an undead prospector showed up. He brings them into his cabin and tells them scary stories. I think he said after he tells them these tales, he’ll take their souls? Not sure. I don’t remember much about these stories except that a plant women was in one of them. Then at the end the zombie prospector chases the kids which leads them running into these rooms that contains the characters from the short segments. My mom got a dvd of this movie but we lost it and she doesn’t remember much of it. Saw it around late 2000s but it looks older because it had this fuzzy vhs quality. It must have been some video company or channel trying to capitalize on the success of are you afraid of the dark? and goosebumps, as it’s definitely made for kids.i posted this before on /x/ a few years back (infact, above me is a copy and pasted post buried from those years) got some suggestions but they werent never right answer, which are collected in this listthe willies the monster squadHaunters of the DeepCurse of the forty-niner (2002)Campfire stories (2001)Campfire tales (1991) and the unrelated (1997) film of the same name>>42115631what year was this when you saw it?
bumpo
>>42115602Theres two but I think there impossible to find. I was young they were two dvds one was a zombie movie I think that was in Spanish or a foreign language (my native language is English) don't remember much but I distinctly remember the characters being non white or black maybe South American or SEA. I think the protagonist was a dad and he had a son and there were zombies and there was a scene that had some thing to do with a swing or something and another with a car. The second move is fogier idk it was post-apticlipic or zombies or whatever but there mainly white people and it had something to do the a large vehicle and it had a sequel.
I might have to travel to Colorado to find it.
>>42115631True Blood season 5 box art? There might have been a variant of it that didn't have the name on the cover, since there are a few promotional pictures without it.
>>42115602for about 3 decades i was convinced i had made "lady in white" up in my head. everyone i described it to had no idea what i was talking about. for 3 decades i never once saw it on tv or referenced on the internet. finally a few years ago i think it aired on Comet and i nearly shat myself. at that time i basically believed the movie didn't exist and my childhood imagination made it up.
>>42115602I'm looking for any archive/screenshots of what the old shock site snuffx.com looked like. It has been blacklisted from the wayback machine. All I have are some old videos I downloaded from other old websites.
>>42115655What's crazy is how the uncut version played for weeks until it was ordered to be re-edited by Kubrick (every copy of it) which dozens of theaters complied with, and nobody even thought to take a copy of the original or save the cut footage of the ending.
There was a dark fantasy/comedy movie from the 80s or 90s where a young boy is staying with an older woman and she makes some lewd remarks to him like "you pounding your pud in there? It's ok if you are" when he was in the bathroom. It wasn't a porno.Anyone remember this?

>>42115602An educational film describing the senses and then followed by coloured brick bridge building where they could not touch certain colours. I remember being taken out of class a lot in elementary where i was shown these educational tapes and told to complete various puzzles a lot. When i got older the memories were always jarring for some reason. I know it’s probably just some special ed class but i feel like if I find the video it would stop being something that gives me nausea and anxiety
Smallwood's tapes.
>>42126949I know that feeling. I grew up in a super Christian hellhole that scrubbed and censored everything. It's shocking to think they even allowed Godsmack's Voodoo to play at all. Not so shocking: the local distributors pulled the video after one airing and edited out the church, snake lady, ritual stuff, and the templars. They put in footage of the band playing, the weird mud guys, and the blurry man running instead. I went years thinking I'd imagined all that stuff. Now the only version I can find is the version I remember and the censored one is lost! Pic related: some of the stuff they cut out.
>>42122658Try looking through the Friday the 13th TV series catalogue. It ran for 3 seasons but has now become largely forgotten. I bought the first season on DVD recently and was surprised to see that many of the episodes were directed by alumni of the Goosebumps TV series and (I think?) Are You Afraid of the Dark.
>>42131949Being lost is probably the only reason why London After Midnight is remembered today, by most contemporary accounts it wasn't very good.
>>42127378I'm also looking for a screenshot on what the homepage of that site looked like for ages. I'm also archiving old videos from it the exact way you are, lol.
>>42132373The average Watchpeopledie user is a 16-year-old Columbine worshipper. I'm not sure if they're old enough to know what Snuffx is.

>>42119831Probably the least cruel think Kubrick did to her.
>>42135030Thank you, shame it never archived the main page. I had no idea there was archival sites other than wayback and archive.is, so it'll be useful for the many other things I hunt for.

I don't know if it counts as lost media but something I remember back around 2001 or 2002 was when I was staying at my cousin's house in Staten Island visiting family and while sleeping on the couch I was flipping through the channels really late at night. Besides infomercials the only thing on was a public access channel that had a weird guy ranting about weird shit and playing videos of creepy stuff like abortions. My cousin came downstairs and saw me watching it and said "Oh that guy! You wouldn't believe it but that dude's our mailman." The next as I was waiting outside for for the family to group up and come out the mailman walked up and handed me the mail since I was in front of the mailbox. It was indeed the same guy from tv but he was a really nice and happy sounding guy who made a comment about the weather or something. It was definitely the same guy but going from a ranting lunatic on tv to a smiling mailman doing his job was a shocking experience I still remember. Do you think public access videos get stored anywhere? I bet they're time capsules that would be fascinating to see.
>>42138877If you search public access on archive.org there's a bunch of channels that seem to be consistently archived. The cataloging isn't great though.
>>42138897I looked it up and apparently it was called industrial TELEVISION and had quite a following. There's a couple videos of it on youtube to give you an idea of the weirdness.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_NlJbsLD3_c
>>42115602I want to see the new age summer camp ad from Ohio. Guy in a white robe who looks like a cult leader talking about their camp teaches you to heal with crystals and develop psychic powers and stuff. Low budget from the 80s or 90s.
>>42116849This? https://m.youtube.com/@LiftOffTheCompleteTVSeries
>>42115602I was at a school book fair in the early 90s and I was flipping through an anthology of science fiction stories. One was about some high school kids in the "future" of the 21st century trying to read Shakespeare but they couldn't find his works because they were suppressed because he was a dead white European male. I wish I'd picked up the book back then. I wish I could remember the name of the story or the book it was in. The recent "decolonization" effort of Shakespeare's birthplace reminded me of the story. I'd really love to find it.
>>42140872Maybe something out of The Turner Diaries or something

Music videos. mostly late 90's:-Sort of suburban The Metamorphosis. Guy with a bug body in a back yard with a picket fence-Surreal video visually similar to Dirt by Death In Vegas., in fact I wondered if it was an alt cut. There's a scene with a bunch of people in cartoon animal masks dancing naked in a circle. (the nudity was blurred)-Pigs or large dogs with human faces wandering the ruins of an abandoned building. Also similar to parts of Dirt. it is not Word Uo by Korn.-Early '00's, 2 kid brothers on holiday with their mother to what looks like the English seaside postwar. They're playing and find a sea mine washed up. Younger kid starts beating on it with a stick while the older fucks off down the beach. Cut to the older kid walking as there's an explosion behind him. The end.
