Think of your beliefs, your desires, your wants and needs. Where do they come from? Are they your own thoughts, or are they concepts that you've been told? No doubt your parents gave influence to who you are by way of their beliefs, status, social standing, etc. But do you continue to live as they had, simply because they are the model you've seen, or do you dare to decide for yourself and break from genealogical tradition? Societal norms and expectations shape who we all are to an extent but it's our ability to decide for ourselves, for better or worse, that proves our sovereignty over the self. A Man chooses, a Slave obeys.
