Scary work related stories, i´ll start:This story was told to me by a supervisor, and it happened way before i started working there, when things were not as bureaucratic and OSHA rules weren't as enforced. At the time of the story, the company went through some re-estructuring so many departments were cut and the buildings were repurposed and adapted, so there was a lot of unused space >be supervisor>due to the re-estructuring of the place he gets moved to a newly created department>start working with a weird dude>always smells like he hasn't showered in weeks>one day, the mill manager gets everyone together on a conference room and tells them that someone is impersonating him>other branches received calls from the "mill manager" ordering spare parts and random shit for machines>asks for that person to step forward, but no one does>says that they are gonna install cameras on lobby and some locations through out the buildings>fast forward a couple months>management notices weird smelly dude going out to lobby to punch out, but coming back into the building, and practically not leaving the building for days at a time>management decides to not say anything yet and let the situation unfurl>dude keeps doing this for weeks, but they can never pinpoint where the fuck he's hiding (he's walking to a side of the warehouse with no cameras)>at the same time, smelly dude's coworkers start complaining about a foul smell near Stores (a little storage room where they keep tools, spare parts, etc)>one night, the mill manager stays after his shift, and with the security guys, decides to check all the mill building by building>get to Stores, and notice the smell people were complaining about>to the side of Stores there's an old staircase that goes down to an old boiler room that has been closed a while ago>smell seems to come from that staircase>everyone goes silent and start walking down the stairs
>weird smelly dude sitting in a nest like pile of old shit and clothes, jerking off in front of a smart phone>everyone fells silent in awe of the weirdness of the situation>dude stands up and tries to attack the manager, gets subdued by the security staffApparently the dude was recording himself jerking off and posting it in weird niche porn sites. Also he had a line phone in that "cave" and for some fucking reason (probably mental illness) would pretend to be the mill manager and would call execs of different branches to "report" on the mill's operations and order repair parts for the machines and more shit. I went to that old staircase with a coworker and the atmosphere around it its so weird, also the smell still lingers cause they just boarded up the staircase and didn't bother cleaning up or picking up his stuff. Weird shit
>>42155255I worked in a steel mill most of my employed life. I've seen dudes incinerated, crushed, people pulled into machinery, machines/parts explode and shrapnel the fuck out of everything nearby...Like living in a Live Leak video. Everyday going in thinking "Is today the day someone's stupidity gets me killed? Open or closed casket?". Shit made me old before my time to be old.Made it out with everything attached, but kinda missing something anyway, y'know?

I used to work in a middle school and one of the 7th grade boys (who was already almost 6 feet tall) body slammed the principal
>>42155778I thought so at the time. It provided for me, mine, and an early retirement, but the job literally (as diagnosed by medical professionals) took years off my life.At least it took the ones at the end, y'know?
>>42155255>Be my dad>Work in pet food factory, trained in first aid>See some guy try to adjust pallet in machine, it hits sensor and is pulled up, with guy on top.>Guy now crushed between two pallets of tinned pet food>Run over, Estop, reset machine, perform cpr on non-breathing guy.>Docs arrive, learn that you have been performing cpr on a dead man
>>42155255>>42155276nothing too scary, we had a similar weird dude though, would go back in the cranes and beat off apparently, also somehow knew every celebrity ever through some story even though he was working in a shithole distro center in the south.
>>42155505I feel like I'm too much of an empath, and my line of work isn't made for me. People dying takes too much of a mental toll on me. I'm switching now, thankfully with significant education benefit, a pension and still young (41). Thinking theology. But not too be a pastor, I'd be much better running the admin and programs for a medium sized church.
>>42156700I dont want people die, but my job is terribly mentally draining. I need to get out
>>42156660Sorry Anon. Keep fighting.
>>42155505That shit sounds brutal man, fair play to you for putting up with it and getting the job done, dont think I could.
>>42156709My advice is to try and get into something you like. Years in a bullshit job as the other Anon said will kill you. I would have taken less pay for something fulfilling

>>42155255I worked in a tard school for 14 years. Small sampling of things I witnessed over the years.> staff member getting his face caved in by 350lb tard>staff getting her thumb bitten off by psychotic tard>tard butt raping another tard>multiple tards putting their heads through windows >tard punching herself in the face over and over while screaming “it feels like you’re raping me!!”>tard bending his fully erect dick in half>tard smearing his own fecal matter all over his face>tard biting his own finger off>tard eating his own feces>tard eating another tards fecesI witnessed so many horrible things that I’m completely desensitized to most horrible shit.

>>42156677I worked in corrections. We would see violent shit all the time because it was a max custody unit. The worst shit was having to perform cpr on clearly dead dudes because we were legally obligated to do so until ambulances arrived on site and told us they were indeed dead. The loss of color, pool of blood, unresponsive, not breathing and heavily stabbed neck wasn't enough proof because we weren't medical professionals. We had real nurses and everything inside but maybe because of legal reasons they couldn't make the call either. Pray that shit happens at the end of shift too otherwise you're supposed to carry on with your day as if nothing happened after you cracked the ribs of a dead guy and took turns compressing his chest for 30 mins until the ambulance could clear all the gates.

>>42157370I bet you're full of more interesting stories.
Not quite scary, but I worked an office job with this guy with cotard's syndrome. Its a mental illness that makes you believe you are already dead and just living out your life as some sort of ghost or zombie. In this guy's case, he believed his whole life was just a flashback and everyone around him was fake.He didn't really work but something he did for the company back in the 90s made him totally un-fireable. Dude just showed up and watched cat videos all day. He did not bathe or brush his teeth. His dental health was so bad, he'd literally rip teeth out of his jaw. I once told him I didn't believe he could do that, so he yanked out a tooth in front of me and casually placed it on my desk. Last time I knew him, he only had about ten left.He didn't like to own things. He lived in an apartment his entire life and only rented cars. Since he believed he was already dead, he would drive erratically and wreck them. Sometimes seriously injuring himself. But he always rented another car and did it again. I think he had to stop driving because he had so many unpaid speeding tickets that he's basically not allowed anymore. He gave me his old CD collection and each one of them was literally so caked in shit and cat fur that I had to sit outside and clean them off with bleach one by one. I was still icked out after that and ended up just selling them all on craigslist lol. Apparently he was a crazy hoarder and literally did not know how to clean. Some of my coworkers had been to his place before and said it was basically impossible to step inside. Also he told me he once smoked meth and played racquetball for eight hours straight. Which explains a lot. Also also he liked to talk about his dick.Apparently he was engaged to a woman once. He's into black ladies and doesn't shut up about it.
Firefighter, auxillary 'ambo and Registered Nurse, seen alot of awful shit but what Rattled me the most was a 30yo Cancer patient, poor guy grabs my hand whilst I'm taking his obs, looks me dead in the eye and he says>I'm afraid, Afraid of what mate? (Didn't know wtf else to say)>I'm not ready to die...Held his hand as he cried and I was tearing up bad as well, after a bit I went to make him a coffee... Come straight back... Dudes dead. "DNR" (Do not resuscitate) order so nobodys fussed...Dunno why it just really fkn hurt my heart that he died scared in an extremely shit ass hospital in the ugliest fkn ward... Like fuck me could not even get him a windowed room
>>42161156I've been thinking about getting a DNR order because I'm scared of CPR but this changed my mind. Thank you anon.

I think I've told this story here years ago. >Be me, early 20s, working in a restaurant >Restaurant is located on the exact opposite end of town from where I live, and I don't own a car, so on nights when I can't get a ride and don' feel like paying for a cab the walk home takes well over an hour.>Walking home one summer night, it's after midnight at the town is deserted. Smoking joints as I walk.>Passing by a hardware store with a decent sized parking lot out front.. Become aware that there are four people standing next to the store. Maybe 30 feet from me.>Two are children, a boy and a girl, roughly 10-12 years old, dressed in what's either bathing suits or underwear. The other two are men somewhere in their late teens/early 20s, dressed in the typical wigger fashion of the early 2000s.>I stop walking for a minute and look because its a strange thing to see. They seem to become aware of me, and the kids and one of the men walk around behind the hardware store where there's a field.>The second man just stands there staring at me.>I stare back at him.>Neither of us say anything. Eventually I start walking again, quickly.
>>42165362>Passing by a pizza place with a payphone out front.>Look back at the hardware store, second man is gone.>Have a really weird feeling about it, so I call 911 on the payphone.>Tell them what I saw, say I got a weird feeling about it and I think someone should check it out. Then hang up. I don't want to talk to cops because I'm high and weed was still illegal here back then.>There's a park across from the pizza place, its pitch black and had bushes I can hide behind, so I wait there to see if cops will actually come.>They do, and they park at the hardware store and walk around it with their flashlights.>They obviously don't find anything and leave after about ten minutes.>Whatever, I've done everything I can and it was probably nothing anyway.>Decide to smoke a cigarette in the park before getting underway again.>After a few minutes the man strolls out from behind the hardware store. >He's looking in my general direction and saying something.>It's far enough away that I can't hear him because he's not yelling, just standing there talking in my direction.>Get spooked and run out of the park and towards home, don't stop running until I'm out of breath. These next two things might be complexly unrelated, but they both happened within a week of this incident.>At home watching tv in the middle of the day, cable goes out. Call out the cable company, they fix it, and tell me that the cable going into the home was cut.>Restaurant where I worked was vandalized with graffiti, bunch of random shit spray painted on one side of the building, only one I remember was "goodbye yellow brick road."
job
>>42156677>>42157370Not work-related but I'm reminded that I had to give CPR to an old relative and had to ignore the notion that even doing it properly (I did not do it properly) would break her ribs which would be fatal or horrible at that ageI want to lie down ;_;
