Aliens walk among us.the reason the governments all over the world have to keep it a secret is because the aliens that are living on our planet disguised as us are refugees of sort, running away from another alien species and if we admit to be harboring these refugee aliens we'll be wiped out along with the refugees.This is why that one guy said that disclosure could lead to "the end of a species".that's why they always say "they're walking among us"maybe they're not aliens they're from a different reality and if we reveal to be harboring these inter-reality refugees we'd all get killed.
