Yesterday I saw a video about Go For A Punch, I think we all know that was made up shit, like the Candle Cove creepypasta, but that made me thought: hey, maybe someone on 4chan has a fake lost media story so good that people might actually want to hear more about it.

So that's what this thread is about, tell /x/ about your "Lost Media" and let’s see who has the most interesting story.

The 80s horror movie Dead End. As I recall it turned out to just be someone messing around on IMDb.

What? I actually remember a movie called Dead End, no idea if you are talking about other one with the same title, but I’m pretty sure there is one with that name

9/11 "Vulture Footage" is definitely fake

Scooby-Doo, Where Are You! - The Watchman (1969)

Don’t you think that Scooby Doo show is too soft? I mean, all what the monsters do is trying to scare people. Well, what if I tell you that there is an episode about a murderer?

Back in the first season of the show, the script writers tried to experiment with different kinds of plots for the episodes, one of them involves a Watchman, apparently a ghost, that kills whoever tries to enter the… I don’t know, I don’t remember, but I will elaborate that later. The deaths of the Watchman weren’t shown, obviously, but the policeman in the episode said they were dead. Aside from that, it was like any other episode, even the gang didn’t look more scared than usual.

Now, why you can’t find this episode anymore and why I know it’s existence? Turns out my father worked in Hanna-Barbera, they gave him a tape that contains that and other never aired material, he showed it to us (me and my sister) when we were kids because he thought we would like it… it didn’t. Actually, I was reading a magazine when he played the tape and I barely saw what happened in the episode, I just turned my head when they said that the monster killed someone but I didn’t paid attention to the plot, that’s why I don’t even remember what place was the ghost watching.

My father got mad because we didn’t saw the footage and throw it in the attic, but I never found it again, not even when my dad died and we sold his stuff.

There must be another copy around, if you ever find it, please update it to YouTube, I would love to see it again to remember my dad.

tangental topic: the sheer massive amount of AI slop, generated to take up space as stock imagery or quick mock-ups or just as jokes, is going to really interfere with future historians cataloging images. the fakes are getting really, really really good by now.

i just had a dream last night that prominently featured an AI entity. the main area of the dream was a building interior with a huge focus on types of plumbing and things that contain running water. lots of people around. it kind of had a semi-museum vibe. the AI entity was some disembodied presence, not confined to any machine or container. she was just hanging around, being aware, and trying to be helpful without being too intrusive.
it left me with a peculiar feeling about our relationship with this new presence.

a year ago i had a dream where i found boxes of vintage kiddy books, like the thick printed cardboard books for little kids... the images were very blatantly AI generated, but the books seemed to have been made in the 1940s... this certainly got my noggin joggin.

Truth has been obliterated. It’s never coming back. We are lucky if we get through another year where real footage is thrown out of a court case because it’s determined to be AI

>Mark Zukcerberg Holocaust Denialism
"As justified as it would have been had it happened... it didn't." This is the opening snippet of the interview, seemingly with Facebook CEO and creator Mark Zuckerberg. A litany of Holocaust denial ensues after the title screen, including but not limited to: skepticism of the gas chamber is being real, reputation of the capacity of crematoriums, and pointing out the supposed swimming pools and theaters in concentration camps.
However, backing up to the aforementioned title screen, one will notice what seems to be a misspelling in the interviewee's name: Mark Zukcerberg.
Notice the transposing of the k and the c.
In fact, this is not a typo. The man being interviewed is not actually Mark Zuckerberg. He is an actor who looks remarkably like him. His stage name: Mark Zukcerberg.
This video is the only known work of his and now appears to have been lost. No other videos featuring this actor under this name or any other name have surfaced. His real name is unknown.

There is, from 2003. Ray Wise is in it.
The "lost" Dead End is from 1985.

Certainly not a 70s poster at least.
