So ancient cartographers recorded these "Phantom Islands" to have existed but they were later deboonked as being frauds. However modern bathymetry indicates features in the ocean precisely where these islands alledgedly were. Seems like a hell of a coincidence. This raises the question of how these cartographers logged these islands fairly accurately. They charted these islands 11,200 years after they flooded? Did they have ancient maps? The area around the azores is actually full of just-submerged islands, islets and shoals that caused shipwrecks, many are just a few meters below the sea, so I imagine they're more likely to have been in that general vicinity. It'd also explain why they're called "isla de brazil" and "las maydas", not exactly names associated with northern europe
