We aren't really our bodies, right? Like in a dream you can feel certain parts of our body but not others. We are a soul piloting a meat suit which means death is an escape into a different set of neurons giving us different sensations
>>
I used to think so, but now after a few decades around people I think most of them *are* the meat suit
>>
Your body is a collective projection. The personal projection of yourself that you see in dreams is very weak in comparison.

This is true, partially, but mostly the result of people choosing the meat over themselves, or rather allowing the meat to pick for them. They haven't learned to walk, and don't because they get on just fine.
>>
Why did you think the dream you remember is "you"? I dream as not me all the time and it seems to be fairly common experience.

The dreams explicitely have content related to my life when there's my body in it. Even in a different landscapes you can stil make out personal things I mentioned inside my head

Dreams are experiences conjured up by the brain, or technically the memories you retain of those dream experiences.
Since the brain has an extensive (if partially corrupted) library of cached sensory experiences and thoughts that you had, that's mostly what it draws from in the first place. "You" yourself are not in the dream any more than your body, your mother, your boogeyman or your fictional alter-ego are, though it certainly feels like it since it usually copies from experiences-as-yourself that you actually had.
Which is why you can't actually dream you were a lobster or something, unless it's a really cartoonish and anthropomorphized one, a mere parody of an experience you can't even properly conceive since you have no memories of being in a lobster's body.
You also can't dream you were Einstein working out theories or Kasparov at the world chess championship (unless you're already a talented physicist or chess master yourself perhaps) since you have no memories of such thought processes.

Oversimplification from the overly simple.
Diminutive words such as "just" are often the unaware attempting to remain unaware by causing others to join them in their unawareness. Recursive and reductive.
Arbitrary declarations of limited functionality are another clear sign that the author licked the windows clean in the short bus that took him to school.
Basically if he said something you can be certain that he was incorrect and not qualified to make the assertions.
He's telling you what he thinks but he doesn't actually know anything and he is bad at guessing.

try on the Wreck-it Ralph hypothesis man. We are but players in Real World the MMO. The underlying premise of the games is that we don't know it's smoke and mirrors, because it get's depressing not believing you're "real." We play them to believe we are "real" for a time.

As others have said and yourself, were just in our material vessels at the moment waiting for the Afterlife but things still matter in this world, we need to stick together and help nature, all beings and creations. NDE visions explain a lot, especially the ones where the person is dead with no brain activity yet they can still see and hear conversations outside of their body. Scientists claim there's no scientific explanation for consciousness, they know it's our souls at least the higher up ones do but if they admit that then people won't want to work for money.

>soul

Not a real thing. We are pretty much brains and our free will is mostly just an illusion... Which is a philosophical question.
>>
As above so below in repetition.

Soul and beyond.
